Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

Time passes, with those who are interested in the tale of Artemis' Pact listening openly or surreptiously, as is their wont.

Towards the end of the story, the door to the tavern opens and the well dressed figure of a small female humanoid enters. At first, she appears to be talking to herself in a peculiar dialect of Eladrin.

"Yes, I find it off-putting too, Lotte" she says, wrinkling her nose, "but settle down, we've ties to maintain in this particular establishment."

As the door closes behind her, the green translucent image of a somewhat cubit-sized bristly spider scuttles around to her front. It doesn't seem to bother her, though. She smiles a half smile, waves to Gil's to table and addresses the common room at large in common Allarian.

"Good day to you all. I'm Lilli and I'm just nipping in to let folks know that I'm around again and to perhaps have a quick chinwag. It's a busy day in a busy week for me, though."

OOC: Porphyria Donnervale is lurking here still, 6th level sorcerer, though her sheet is in need of an overhaul I think. I have one other character on adventure.

OOC: My character (Dina) is a level 1 leader with all sorts of lazylord goodness. I just sent a PM to jsb420. He has Maroohk (jsb420) - Half-Orc Assassin|Monk 1 listed in the tavern. I know he is active because he is the DM for the other game I am playing here. I'll see if he chimes in. That would fill the missing role.

OOC: Sorry for ignoring the thread for almost a week. Sounds like there might be enough players for the Level 2 version, so I'll send the judges the adventure when I'm back from work and post the hook as soon as it's approved.

"Wow, amazing. So you're free of the demon and bound yourself to the stars? And to Khirad, no less. But I see you decided to take the path of the enforcer as opposed to the leader and judge, Artemis. I'm glad to have more members so active, IAC stagnated for a bit."

OOC: Really enjoyable adventure. Someone, Shales comments were cracking me up along with Gils antics, dry humor of Artemis and occasional gem (I broke a nail!) from Lilly. Excellent game. I would give you XP, but can't.

Artemis bows to the venerable warlock, "I can not give enough credit to the bravery of Gil and Lilli and the genius of Shale. Without them, I would have fallen to the very devil of my soul and lie in eternal agony in Hell."

He puts down one of the large tomes on the table, "And of course my destiny lies in alignment with Khirad. I would be foolish to rely only on Ulban's guidance. His ability to confuse is as strong as his ability to enlighten."

The door swiftly opens again and into the tavern walks a young woman in expensive and loudly colored clothing, her hair a shock of red and green stripes. Taking a short glance around the room, she walks to a table and calls the barmaid over.

"Oy, missy, come come! I need drink and food, for adventure makes a strong woman hungry!"

She swats the barmaid on the rump to send her on her way, and puts her feet up on the table to wait.

OOC: Rilissa is a level 1 swordmage, pending approval. I'm completely new to play by post, so it'll take a bit to get the hang of the ropes.

Lilli blushes to hear her name praised so, but discreetly sidles over to Artemis' table. Her eyes flit towards those of her former companions and the other guest at the table with a smile. However, she also attempts to take a quick peek at the books collected around them, standing on tip-toe as she does so.

"I think you made a mistake this time bonding yourself to a star. If anything was to be learned from our trip, is that if you have to choose a patron, it's better if it's one you can kill."

"You'll have some trouble reaching that Khirad"

This from the creature which advised me to stop eating... interjects Gil, before responding to Martelai What happened? Does it have to do with that armor you were wearing? Gil flips his notebook a bit, What did you say it was made of again, I don't think I've heard of the creature you referred to before.

Gil smiles towards Lilli upon her entrance, and pats her on the back during Artemis' praise.

Thanks Artemis. Gil beams at the praise, I think I'll be staying here permanently. says the young human, surprising himself even. With that thought, Gil's mind reels, but his awkward blurt was true. He had decided he wanted to stay in Daunton.
