I own all three and love the setting, though the charonti captured my imagination far more than the Knorr even though I'm a big norse fan.

The set up for dungeon explorations in search of ancient magic was awesome.

I liked the different map perspectives depending on which product you got.

I considered trying to add it in to games I was running but it never quite worked at the time.

Know about it, never owned it.

It looks like it could have been good. A self-contained setting, which presumably a DM could just plunk down in a homebrew world, with a faily basic barbarians vs. wizards plotline. Designed so the PCs could be either the barbarians or wizards. Even if it actually sucked, I have to give the creative team credit for the idea.

I've been looking through my books, actually dug them up because of this thread. And some of the things I remember must have been homebrews. For example, there actually were priests in the campaign, and many of the D&D spells still existed. Who knew?

And the Knorr book WAS book one! Things I learn. The Charonti book is, of course, the better of the two.

I started converting many of the kits in the Charonti book to Savage Worlds' Edges. The more I think about it, the more I realize SW would be a MUCH better system for JAkandor. Someone should buy the license from Wotc and release the campaign setting. I know I'd buy it. :)

I agree! I'd buy it too.

I think it's Chult that I'm thinking of. Been a while.

So is Jakandor in the Realms, or is it its own setting?

I placed Jakandor in *my* Realms... along with Council of Wyrms and aspects of most other 2e settings out at the time.

Chult always struct me as more of "Lost World" setting, including dinosaurs, savages, and outsider adventurers trying to survive.

Book two... the Knorr one, right?

Really, you can run the game using either book one or book two. Book three is pretty much a bunch of adventures. Really, I ran it using the Charonti book, and nothing else. The game is set up in such a way that it's almost expected for GMs to invent their own stuff.

As others pointed out, book 2 is the Charonti one. This thread has helped giving be a better perspective on what the setting is about so maybe I will give this another chance. I might try to track down the other 2 books though. I kinda hate not having the complete setting (even though its not required).

Please share your Savage Worlds conversions

I am totally hooked on that game.
