I was just wondering how Everquest is doing all and all.

I have never playedthe CRPG, but have really enjoyed the books.

Is anyone else playing and buying?

Is S&S planning on keeping this line going?

Just a wondering.

I've got their PH and I keep eyeing the Monsters of Norrath and the Alakabar spell book. I really like their dwarves (size small but +4 str). I got it because it looked cool and I wanted some of the advertised things for use as add ins in our D&D campaigns. It has some neat classes (dark knight, shaman, and different magic bard core classes) races, and magic systems that are pretty good. We haven't used any of it yet, but it is fun stuff.

Everquest is almost a double experiment.

It was the first full line to go OGL, and be a self contained rules system.

It also is an attempt to make a massively popular MMECRPG into a pen and paper game.

I have always assumed it was doing well because they keep pumping stuff out, but I *NEVER* hear anybody talk about it or their RP experiences on the boards...

Just curious is all.

I like some of the classes too, even though they are geared a little towards combat.

Probably because it's more geared towards the MMECRPG players, those don't come here to often. [/assumption]

I have all the S&S Everquest books, they are decent enough, but not your standard cup of "D20" material. I'm not overly thrilled with them, but then again i buy so many "D20" books that i can't read them all from cover to cover, these are just at the bottem of the pile ;-)
