I missed the part about solo monsters being broken. Is there a thread that analyzes them in detail?

Broken isn't the right word for it. They just have more HPs than many parties can get through before PCs are left with only being able to choose from at-wills for an extended number of rounds instead of at-wills and the few extra powers they normally can choose from.

Some people have found that fights against solo monsters turn into slog-fests. I think it's mainly a problem when you pit the PCs against solos of more than +1 level. The black dragon in Raiders of Oakhurst definitely got sloggish, but I haven't noticed the problem in my current campaign - though we've only had one solo fight thus far, and that was against a custom monster.
