Evil vs Good: D&D Wargaming

The Hunter grins as he sees the rage burning in the Dragons eyes

"Mwahahahaha!" he laughs maniacally "yes they shall burn, their city shall be dust beneath my feet, their flesh shall be devoured by my dogs!"

(ooc The thing is even though we know about the two Wizards where not too clear on who the other Good army is and what capabilities they might have - we could be dealing with more Teleporters than the Wizards alone - we know that they have Celestial forces (living on the Spire) - they worry me. The rest should be easy:)

ooc I can't post again until tomorrow so - take it easy guys (and Drak, Pyrex if you need to autopilot the Pack as you see fit - (and the Druid if absolutely necessary) lots of entangle, earthquakes, elemntals and storms of vengeance)

OOC:
Tonguez, I'll wait if that is alright. The pack I think I could handle but the Druid I'm lost on. I have some other plans in the meantime.

Fieari, I'm still waiting to know what time it is.

It's night, before midnight though. Don't bother planning anything farther than two rounds (twelve seconds) past the first attack, because that's when the 2nd attack comes. I need to go make my mother a pie for her birthday, but when I come back, I'll have full details. They'll be complicated.

ooc: more precise actions.

My dragon is right behind where they teleported in last time. His readied action is to start a grapple if one is in range and use his breath weapon if they are not. If his breath weapon he will try to minimize damage to his own lair and troops. The initiator for the readied action is spellcasting or any other action. Grapple bonus is +24, breath weapon is 6d10, 40' cone.

My mephits are all scattered about the sleeping room but all are within 60' of the initial teleport spot. Their readied action is to fire an arrow (+7 to hit 1d6 damage) at the wizards. The initiator for the readied action is spellcasting or any other action.

My kobalds are in the passageway between the sleeping room and the rest of the lair. Their action is the same as the mephits only with crossbows +2 to hit, 1d8 damage.

I really hope the contingency is set to casting a spell. If I succeed at a grapple or their concentration breaks they are in deep trouble :] .

Edit: Alright I should have payed more attention when I wrote this. Fixed my attack and damage bonus.

The Sleeping Chambers fill with a holy light. Dazzling points of light pop up throughout the room, all over the place, and with them comes a flowing melody of heavenly song...

Code:
Many, MANY will saves of DC12. Both FireKing and the Hunter's minimum will save is over 12 however, so you make all your saves. On the other hand, all 30 of your Air Mephits in the room have a mere will save of +3. All of them fail at least once. The luckiest one fails only 19 times... the unlucky ones fail much more than that. Fortunately, the negative effects don't stack.

All your mephits in the room suffer -2 AC, -2 BAB, -2 All Saving Throws

I'm not going to tell you exactly how many of these things there are, because they're all moving about and indistinguishable from each other... with so many, you can't get a count without magical aid (Mordenkainen's Adding Abacus, anyone?)

The Air Mephits go into a fury, dashing at the lights, using their breath weapons. And the balls of light strike back as well. The Mephits use every weapon at their command... their breath weapons mostly... but not one of them manages to hit a single ball of light (before the FireKing's Initiative comes up)

On the other hand, the lights swarm around a single Mephit, and manage to slaughter it with much effort. The poor little Mephit dodged around quite a bit, but eventually, the little nicks and scratches were just too much.

The room is swarming. The ravens are almost completely through the mirror (getting 300 ravens through a 5'x2' space is not an instantaneous matter, after all)... but now there is a new hitch. The ravens were heading out through to the rest of the cavern. But now, they're hitting an invisible wall, and knocking themselves out like sparrows into a picture window.

FireKing... your move.

Just to note. There are 60 mephits in the room. 30 of them had readied actions to attack anything that appeared and tried to act. I also had a readied action to attack anything that tried to act. These things definately tried to act so 30 of my troops and me would strike before they could do anything.

I will use my breath weapon on as many of these creatures as I can, regardless of any troops of mine in the way.

Now we just have to wait for the druid.

If I survive this I am so going to burn that city to the ground.

ooc I have connection!

The Druid (still in elemental form and with trueseeing in place) casts around trying to determine what the balls of light are.

Seeing the ravens hitting the invisible wall he casts a greater dispell magic on the room centered on the invisible wall (but hopefully getting the lights too)

Being underseige the Barbarians and Warriors form a defensive circle around the mirror and Druid whilst the Dog Soldiers strike out against the enemy relying on their Resistance to Damage to assist

His Third Action is to give himself Protection from Energy attacks before calling on an Greater Air Elemental (Natures Ally) to join him in attacking the obvious leaders which he does using a firestorm and then his own whirwind attack!

"Druid, anchor the mirror, quickly. This is going to get very bad."

The FireKing quickly surveyed the room, the annoying lights had killed a mephit and were moving toward the mirror. And where are the kobalds? As he glanced towards the entrance a whole new dread filled him.

His blindsense wouldn't work in that direction, something invisible was blocking his sight.

A wall of force was up.

The wizards were back!

No this could not be happening, he was too clever too fall into a humans trap. These cattle should be fleeing from his terror, not striking in his own home. He would not let them win, he would not let them have his treasure, he would not let them kill the druid. Not even if it cost him his life.

With a roar he dashed towards the wall of force. When he reached it he spread out his body and wings so nothing could see past him. Then he took a deep breath.

I move to the wall of force and cover it as best I can with my move action.
I ready action to use my breath weapon with my standard action.

I will use my breath weapons to hit both wizards when the wall goes down.

Edit: Are you remembering my readied actions at all? Readied actions allow you to act right before the person you are readiing against. From there on out right before that persons acts is your initiative. My readied action will be to use my breath weapon as stated above unless that would put me after the wizards. Yes I know that will kill my mephits and I DON"T CARE

Additionally what about the troops currently guarding the mirror. Pretty much everything The Druid has coming out of there is guarding it. How precisely do the balls of light reach it to teleport it.

Oh, and if I sound angry, I am. But I'm angry at myself for not seeing this coming, not at you.
