Extra Spell Feat from Complete Arcane

Rather than spending a feat at 15th level to cast Heal, you could just get Leadership and a 13th-level cleric who can heal, gets additional actions, and does a whole lot more. Isn't using leadership as a benchmark fun?! Balance for everything! :p

Gah! You just crushed my thread!!!

Have you been playing with a sorcerer that can cast Heal? Because that was the point of my comment. Not a generalization, a comment on a specific scenario.I'm still convinced the feat doesn't allow you to cross class lists at all, but as in all things, apply rule 0. ;)

Isn't favored soul a "sorcerer who can cast heal"?

PS, using Leadership as a balance benchmark IS fun. Gm doesn't want you to have that power, just threaten to take leadership instead! It does everything and MORE!

Which is why, IMC, leadership is not a feat. You either get it for free (if we're playing with multiple PC's) or you can't get it at all. You want a cohort? It'll either not cost a feat at all (and so I can do whatever I want as a GM without destroying a feat taken), or you don't get it at all.

Nope. It's a spontaneous spellcaster who can cast heal. That's quite a difference.

The DM decides the specifics of a cohort, at least according to the DMG. ;)

Bye

Your new cohort will be a 14th level commoner named Whipple. He wields a pointed stick, and his feats include Run, Skill Focus (profession: weaver), and Transdimensional Spell. He has standard NPC class starting wealth, but it all comes in the form of trade goods. You are now the owner, by proxy, of four thousand cubic feet of chickens.
