Faeries?

First Post
OK, someone may need to smack me upside the head with the dumb*ss stick, but, where the heck are the faeries? I can't find them in the MM or the MoF. I know there are a couple in Mythic Races, but what about WotC stuff? Did the name change or something?

Page 172 of the Monster Manual. Pixies are close enough to Faeries for me.

Not close enough for me. I miss the old ones from 2nd Edition. I don't have a problem making new monsters, but for some reason, I suck at converting old ones. Go figure.

Hopefully, they'll put them in the Monster Manual II...

[Edit] Which 2e product has info on Faeries? I can only find Sprites, Pixies, Leprechauns, and Brownies... Are there stats for Faeries explicitely? All of these creatures seem to be considered "faeries". [/Edit]

The CC only has the Leprechaun, Brownie, Sylph, Buckawn, Korred, Killmoulis, Quickling, Sirine, Atomie, Forlarren, Nereid, and Pech; no faerie per se. Pity.

You could go to their forum and ask for a conversion, though.

Actually FAERIE has NEVER been a monster in (A)D&D, IIRC.

Faerie is a group of monsters which entails brownie, pixies, etc.

EDIT: I'm not totally sure about 1st Ed. AD&D, since I sold those books years ago. But in 2nd Ed. AD&D there wasn't a monster called a 'faerie', but rather a group of monsters known as 'faerie-kin'.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure...

That's what I thought too...but then I read a particular book about a Justicar and his strange friends, written by Paul Kidd. It kinda threw me for a loop. :D I could have sworn they only existed in Greyhawk. So, do you guys think the brownie is the best replacement? Something else?
