D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

Why would it be? That's what we are seeing with Eberron and Astarions.

Eberron is races that had their focus on Species of Eberron origin, even if a few like Changelings & Shifters found their way elsewhere. Astarion's Dhampyrs is directly related to him being a vampire, it's related to a specific theme, they didn't add in Hexborn & Reborn to it.

Genasi have become a very important part of FR lore, especially Calimshan so an update & expansion there makes sense, but otherwise I think it will actually mostly be NEW species. Wemics, Shades, Saurials, maybe some stuff we don't expect. Maybe Tabaxi get a reprint because they are Forgotten Realms in origin unlike most of the MoM species.

Well, of the third supplement is Realmspace, for arguments sake, having all of those Spwcies updated to 2024 formatting would be as important as Dhampirs are for Astarions. It is a niche supplement concept, but so are the other, and fits the evidence we have very well.

Whelp, turns out the third supplement is a Magic the Gathering Feywild crossover:

The Lorwyn-Shadowmoor Domain of Delight is where the boundaries of eternal sunny days can shift into eerie moonlit nights. Here, you’ll discover a clash of sinister and idyllic locales and observe their contrasting inhabitants.

With Dhampyr's in ABH and Rimekin & another species in L: FL wtf is the other 5 species?

Note that the Lorwyn info says it has 2 "new Species" and "guidance" for "8 additional Feywild Species".

So the initial listing showing 8 new Species might be juat Beyond objects, like "Elf (Llrwyn)" or "Halfling (Kithkin)".

Maybe. Besides Rimekin what do you think the second species is?

I'm leaning towards Kithkin being a separate species from Halflings, even Ghostwise Telepathy doesn't work like Kithkin Mindweft. Plus Kithkin are still a separate creature type from Halflings on the cards. Although I'm not sure if Rimekin/Flamekin/Cinders are going to be Elemental Creature Type, Humaniod, or Fey, I mean creature types don't always translate perfectly between D&D & MtG, Genasi are Elementals in MtG and Humaniods in 5e (although originally they did were Elementals in 3e until "lessee versions" were released for FR traffic were humaniods along side tge Tiefling and Aasimar.")

I'm know it's unlikely, but I'm still hoping for Noggles.

I supposed it's possible that the two species are really one that can change forms from one species to the other. Like Flamekin Species and wake up and turn themselves in Rimekin species. Hope that isn't it, because that's really 1 species with 2 forms.

I'd like it if they did Treefolk.

Noggles I can see being handles by reprinting Goblins, again, with some fresh lore.

This 32-page digital supplement
so the digital bundle was like $120, the two FR books are $30 and $40, which leaves $15 or so for each of the supplements (assuming none of this is discounted, which feels like a safe assumption...). Not sure how a 32 page supplement can justify that price, do we have page counts for the other two and this one is just particularly slim (and therefore probably less expensive)?

EDIT: nope, by now they have a breakdown, each supplement is $15...

Yup, $15 each and all 3 are 32 pages long, which is pretty inexpensive for a 32 page book: that's significantly cheaper than TSR was selling 32 page softwood ers in the ips, accounting for inflation. Full price details from Beyond:

- Digital + physical versions of Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn* ($79.98)

- Digital + physical versions of Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn ($99.98)

- Baldur’s Gate 3 Digital Map Pack, usable only on Maps VTT ($5.99)

- Forgotten Realms Factions Digital Dice Set ($5.99)

- Astarion’s Book of Hungers: a digital expansion with new vampire-themed player options, monsters, and adventure content – shared by Astarion himself! ($14.99) | Release Date: November 11, 2025

- Netheril’s Fall: a digital expansion where players can explore the lost Netherese Empire in a time traveling adventure ($14.99) | Release Date: November 11, 2025

- Lorwyn: First Light: a digital expansion that supplements your Forgotten Realms adventures with Fey-inspired character options, adventures, and monsters from a new Domain of Delight in the Feywild called Lorwyn-Shadowmoor. ($14.99) | Release Date: November 18, 2025
