Familiars - Hamsters?

Okay, I have a player in one of my groups that had their familiar killed recently. She has stated that when the opportunity arises to replace it, that she wanted a hamster familiar. A hamster?!

Not sure how I should handle this.

Seriously a compromise might be viable... the Dweomercraft: Familiars pdf has numerous cute little rodents all statted out as familiars.

Hamsters as familiars give a +2 bonus to shredding up paper checks and a +2 bonus to Con for drinking copious amount, provided the liquid is being adminsitered from a giant bottle with one of those ball-stop thingies.

Oh, and feral rodents, such as hamsters, tend to carry Y. pestus-- that's plague for those not down with thier microbiology. Many fantasy medieval types would be wary of the little fuzzballs.

Use a Hedgehog? (Check the familiars for small masters section in the DMG).
