Fantastic Four

I saw the Trailer for The Fantastic Four yesterday before RoTS, and and I just have to say... Wow. It looks really good. I wasn't too excited when I initially heard they were making this movie and I really didn't think Julian McMan(sp) would make a good Dr Doom, but from the trailer he looks really good.

When I first saw the trailer online, I thought it looked pretty good. But seeing it on the big screen, I was underwhelmed. I hope that it's good, but my hopes for this have dropped quite a bit. It just looks, well, cheesy.

I saw the trailer last night before RotS. I don't think it will be up to the quality of X-Men or Spider-Man, but it looks like a good evening's fun. It hooked me when The Thing rumbled "It's clobberin' time!" :D

How do the effects look? I haven't seen it, but after looking at publicity shots, my initial reaction was, "They did this movie a year ago. They called it The Incredible. You probably aren't going to do it as well as they did."

(I'm aware that the Fantastic Four predates the Incredibles. Nevertheless, the movie did very well and is going to be in the front of a lot of people's minds when watching the Fantastic Four.)

My kids don't know comic books (my bad, working on it), but I took them to RoTS. My 9 year old turned to me and said about the F4 preview "that looks like Incredibles 2 dad." I almost laughed myself out of the chair.

I sort of liked the trailer.... Not sure I will see it on the big screen though. That's not saying much as I tend to wait for the DVD for a lot of movies these days.

The first few previews of it I saw left me underwhelmed. But the one they played before RotS made my friend and I turn to each other and both say, "this just might be fun."

You are so right.

The Incredibles captured the best part about the Fantastic Four comics . . . the theme of supergroup as family. Distant father, repressed mother, bickering siblings.

The FF movie got owned before it's release.

While Jessica Alba is a hottie, I can't see her as Sue. I always pictured the Fantastic 4 a little older, a more mature group. This looks like another teen super hero movie. Thats just me. I was never a F4 fan so I don't even know why I am posting here. Looking forward to Batman though.

Kind of what I was thinking. FF with fall somewhere between X- Men and Daredevil in my eyes. I definatly be checking it out in the theaters.
