I'm obviously missing something here. Firearms have the normal -2 penalty for each full range increment, so why should Far Shot be amended when dealing with them?

Yes, sorry, my bad, didn't do enough research into the players question.

They are playing a sniper archetype. It has accuracy at 1st level...which reduces penalties to -1/2 per increment. Would Far shot further reduce? Be ignored? or would you apply far shot first, then the accuracy giving you -1 every other range increment?

Looks like those two don't stack - both reduce the penalty to a fixed amount, rather than reducing it by a fixed amount. So, just use the better one.
