when i'm eating pretzels and drinking beer it is usually in front of the idiot box while i'm watching sports.

so the game is a Virtual Fantasy sport. either basketball, baseball, football, american football, or hockey.

i crunch numbers for fun.

Wow!

Never thought that this would generate as much traffic as it has.

Say, does anyone else remember playing Dungeon! - oodles of mindless fun. (Ah, the memories of playing that 20 years ago...)
I remember the additional classes that were published in the Dragon umpteen million years ago.

Eek! A few of my favourites haven't been mentioned yet. I cannot allow that situation to continue.

Snit's Revenge
The Creature That Ate Sheboygan
Manhattan

And a certain card game, the name of which I shall not mention in earshot of Eric's grandma. (But it's a compound noun ending in 'head'.)

I have so many but I will put out the short list:
Titan

You consider Titan a beer & pretzels game?

Which is not to say I dislike it, but I actually find it possible to devote quite a bit of thought to the game. Bit longer than I like my B&P though. Then again, I don't know if I'd consider Settlers a B&P game, as it isn't quite mindless enough. :)

My personal choices would be:

Battle of the Bands (card game)
Dungeoneer (card game)
Insecta
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the board game, that is)
Tales of the Arabian Nights (fairly long, but a pretty light game)

Multiplayer Magic is a great one, though back in the day my friends and I were known to occasionally sit down for a quick 100 rounds of Soul Calibur. I think we play Magic now because two of us (myself and one other) still have a few thousand cards from the old days that we need to justify hanging on to. :D

I have to go with the already mentioned Kobolds Ate My Baby!. How can you go wrong with a game that runs on the BEER engine?

Running thru towns, eating babies, getting brained by housewives with frying pans (the single most dangerous weapon in the game); what more can you ask?

All Hail King Torg!

KAMB3E, the Original Beer & Pretzels Role-Playing Game.
