Favorite Buffy Season

All this talk about Buffy, and my recent acquisition and watching of Season 3, has made me curious: which season is by consensus the best one?

My recollection is getting hazy, but I know my Buffy watching tapered off considerably after the second season. When did Ms. Calendar make her exit? Perhaps it's all tied to that. I confess to having had a bit of a crush.

My memory is fuzzy, but my fave sections of the Buffy story are the Angelus and faith arcs...

That'd be 2 or 3 wouldnt it? or both ....

i'm not sure if it took my vote, because i wasn't logged in when i first attempted it, but

season four is THE best buffy season. (if you didn't see season four this is your SPOILER. go to next post)

from dropping the problems of high school and living at home,
to the mystery of strange army dudes kidnapping beasties
to the complete jaw-on-floor revelation that Riley was one of them
plus it gave us the chip in spikes head
the coolness that was Adam.
and a great episode where they all unite to defeat the big bad.
even Forest was cool.

definitely season four.

I love season 2. This line from Giles sums up why:

"Since Angel has lost his soul he's regained his sense of whimsy."

3, then 5, but the best single episode was the musical last year.

You don't have an option for "I like them all".

Every season has had elements that I really liked, which makes it impossible for me to choose one over the other.

So, they're all my favorite.

My favs are 3, 2, and 6, with 1 taking a close fourth. Four and five I could do without (they chipped Spikey! ), and this season could either be very good or the absolute worst, dependent entirely upon whether Giles is alive or dead, respectively.

Hmm, I've said in other threads that I liked 2&3 the best out of all of them, but that may just be because of the DVD's. So I'll hold my opinion until I see them all again. What I do know, is that while Season 6 was generally my least favorite, it had some of my favorite single eps of the whole series: The Musical, the Finale and one more that I can't recall at the moment.
