you know, I really expected to like this because of how much I liked the show, but when I I finally caught it on video, it left me largely unamused. Not entirly sure why, since I was definitly primed to like it.

anyway, When Harry Met Sally is one of my favorites of all time. others I haven't seen mentioned are Spaceballs and more recently Galaxy Quest.

I agree on the M*A*S*H part. I saw the movie, and it left something to be desired for me. I love the show. I'm a new fan who catches the reruns.

And I also absolutely loved Spaceballs and Galaxy Quest...

And may the Schwartz be with youuuuuuuuuuuu.........

I'm an insensitive jerk.

On a related note, I can't really watch Spaceballs anymore. It's just too stupid. Of the other Mel Brooks stuff, Young Frankenstein beats out Blazing Saddles just narrowly, and only because you can show Young Frankenstein on TV without serious censorship. Watching an edited Blazing Saddles was just painful.

I've heard/read someone say that some of the things that made Blazing Saddles funny don't strike people as necessarily funny any more, like a black sheriff. I haven't actually seen the whole film, just bits on TV, so I can't really comment.

Probably going to be a lot of repetition here:
- O Brother Where Art Thou?
- Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (not completely a comedy, but I'll include it anyhow)
- Arsenic and Old Lace
- Much Ado About Nothing
- The Blues Brothers
- tossup between His Girl Friday and The Front Page (with Matthau and Lemmon)
- MP & The Holy Grail
- The Princess Bride
- A Funny Thing Happened To Me On The Way To The Forum (although, like The Party, I might be underwhelmed by this film I loved when I saw it as a teen)

I've seen and liked most everything listed. My favorites, however, would have to be...

Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Rat Race
Kingpin
Something about Mary
The First 30 Minutes of Chasing Amy
Arsenic and Old Lace
Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles

These are in no specific order and I know I've missed some...

Already mentioned:

Clerks
Mallrats
Chasing Amy
Dogma
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back
Ghostbusters
American Pie 1 & 2
American Wedding
Major League
Army of Darkness
Spaceballs
Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles

Not mentioned (I think):

Fargo
Shrek
Unnecessary Roughness
Austin Powers 1 & 2
The Whole Nine Yards
Swingers
Office Space
The Princess Bride
UHF
