One great comedy that no one has mentioned yet is Murder By Death. Peter Sellers is fantastic in this.

M*A*S*H

you know, I really expected to like this because of how much I liked the show, but when I I finally caught it on video, it left me largely unamused. Not entirly sure why, since I was definitly primed to like it.

anyway, When Harry Met Sally is one of my favorites of all time. others I haven't seen mentioned are Spaceballs and more recently Galaxy Quest.

I agree on the M*A*S*H part. I saw the movie, and it left something to be desired for me. I love the show. I'm a new fan who catches the reruns.

And I also absolutely loved Spaceballs and Galaxy Quest...

On a related note, I can't really watch Spaceballs anymore. It's just too stupid. Of the other Mel Brooks stuff, Young Frankenstein beats out Blazing Saddles just narrowly, and only because you can show Young Frankenstein on TV without serious censorship. Watching an edited Blazing Saddles was just painful.

I've never understood why they even try to show Blazing Saddles on regular TV. It's horrible.

I've heard/read someone say that some of the things that made Blazing Saddles funny don't strike people as necessarily funny any more, like a black sheriff. I haven't actually seen the whole film, just bits on TV, so I can't really comment.
