I am interested in others opinions. Some magic items provide feats, but so far I have not seen a clear and fair system for saying this feat should cost this much and another cost a different price. Does anyone have a good system?
Next I have in the past allowed characters to wish for a feat. This seems a very expensive way of getting one but I would allow it. I generally limited it to one in a game year and only to what they have prerequisites for and no epic feats. Has anyone else had a solution for this?
Which brings up skills. Players haven't thought of it yet but if they wish for skills they could use wish too. I thought of the magic item model. My thought on this is
5000xp /25xp per 1000gp value =200,000gp equivalent
200,000/2 =100,000 for slotless
100.000/2 = 50,000 lack of material components at all
sqrt(50,000/100)= approx 22.
Now I am thinking while you may be able to get 22 ranks out of this you can only use the number of max ranks based on your level, so if a ftr3/wiz7 manages to get his hands on a ring of three wishes, he may get 22 ranks, but can only use 13 in a class skill or 6 1/2 in CC? Any thoughts?
