Festival of Halina: Adventurers Gone Wild! (Orsal Judging)

"Then it is to you, beautiful lady, that I owe my debt to." He bows to Lasair in a humble fashion. "I am Carsis, and I am at your service."

"...As I said before, this mandolin is realy all I have left of my family, and it means more to me than mere gold."
Pleased with the turn of events, Oirhandir waited for Troi to point out Lasair. Indeed it was her...senses that had alerted the entire group to the situation. And the elf thought Troi had given a good account of himself, resolving the matter quickly and well.

"Kind sir, may I ask...", he inquired of the man, pointing at the mandolin, "but do you play?"

"No, I owe you, and as a man of Honor, I must insist on paying you back in some way. It need not be much, perhaps if you simply let you buy and accompany you to dinner? That would be an honor all it's own."

"I do, on occasion, though I am not as compitent as I would wish."

"I did not do anything of importance to help you...You need not worry, as you have no zij to me. If you wish, you can give dinner to Oirhandir, who repaired your receipt, or Troi, who took care of the corrupt merchant."

"Well, they would not have helped if you hadn't pointed it out it appears, so I do indeed have zij to you. Will you let me honor my debt miss..."

Oirhandir sighed. Softly, not much above a whisper, he explained to Scarlet, "My dear, may I have a moment? Lasair knows little of the customs of these lands, and I should like to speak with her." He turned to the man, and spoke: "Carsis, may I have a quick word with Lasair?" He waited the merest instant for the reply, then approached Lasair, again speaking in a low voice, "Lasair, should you accept his offer of dinner, you will incur no zij by the customs of this place. Unless his company displeases you, I suggest you accept his offer. Doing so would gladden his heart, and perhaps give us all an opportunity to learn of his tale."

"Just because this land is barbaric and without honour does not mean that I will not incur zij for taking this undeserved offering," Lasair replies to Oirhandir, staying quiet to humour his desire to not be heard.

Oirhandir blinked. "Maybe if I stayed in the lands of this strange woman for a few years, I might have a nodding understanding of her customs", he thought to himself. He felt as if he was trying to solve a puzzle that had some pieces missing.

"Lasair", he asked, summoning the patience to follow this through to the end, "in your culture, is there a way to give another a gift out of sheer joy and gratitude, without incurring or imposing any burden or obligation on either the giver or reciever? And if such a thing is known to you, is there any way for Carsis to give you such a gift?"
