I sent Nimisgod and Knight Otu an email asking them to look it over, so it's not approved yet. Just let me know when you want me to update the "quick reference post" at the start of this thread, I'll be happy to do that.[/sblock]

"Although Oirhandir," Sunny says, "I'm not sure exactly how much or how little sleep you need...but I would not at all be adverse to a little company on the last watch. I'm a talker, you see... of cousre, I understand if you need to sleep as well!!!!"

Oirhandir laughed, and clapped Sunny on the shoulder that was not behind the huge sword. "My fine friend", he replied, "I see you know little of elves. We do not sleep at all, not a wink. All we require is perhaps 3 or 4 hours each day to let our minds wander over happy times, we call this 'trance'. Now, if I have been working magic, I will need as much time as you to rest in order to replentish my arcane energy. But I need not stare at the backs of my eyelids that entire time as do men of magic."

OOC:[sblock]Oirhandir is up for some early morning conversation, so long as he doesn't have to concentrate to maintain a vigil.[/sblock]

Troi shrugs as the others add their own points.

"Now, there's a sensible reply", thought Oirhandir to himself. "I was right about him, he'll be a good man to have at our side in a tight spot." Oirhandir limited his response to a simple, "As you wish."

Declining further comment on the watch order, Oirhandir was content to enjoy somebody else's cooking for a change. Presently, he procured his chimes and mallet, and began to play some soft melodies that he had known from his youth.

OOC- I don't mind posting more than once a day. I could probably do it myself. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being too slow

"Wonderful Oirhandir! Wonderful!" Fang appluaded after Oirhandir finished his first song. "Das wha' Fang love bout peoples. Peoples 'ake good sound. Orcs 'akes bad sounds. Fang like good sounds".

"You play 'gain, yes?" Fang pleaded.

"Why, yes, of course", replied the elf as he started playing another tune from his ample repretoire. Oirhandir considered that if there was such a thing as an orc who enjoyed listening to elven lullabyes, then the world must not be such a bad place after all.

The bard played well into the night, waiting for either someone to contest him for the first watch, or for the entire party to drift off to sleep.

*Watch schedule round 1 finilization, let me know if this isn't working for anyone*

Gets dusky at 8pm or so, given that it's summer (right?)

Watch 1: 8pm - 10 pm (Sunny & Elise) | Reasoning: it's relatively light still. They take an early watch and then can sleep 8+ hours. Everyone else can chill out.

Watch 2: 10pm - 1pm (Troi & Oirhandir) | Dark, Troi can use scent to augment eyes, Oirhandir has good eyes in darkness

Watch 3: 1pm - 4pm (Fang & Oirhandir) | pitch black, but Fang can see as normal.

Watch 4: 4pm - Dawn/Wakeup (Lasair) | Should be getting light (ish) by 5, Lasair can handle the morning watch?

Have two people on the darkest watches has obvious advantages. We are unlikely to be surprised. All the wizzies can get their beauty sleep. Oirhandir can sleep early & late. Lasair can sleep long and early.

Dawn watch (Lasair) is a bit thin perhaps but really, who attacks with the dawn? *famous last words*

Fang laid on his back with his hands behind his head and a smile on his face. What could be better than a full stomach, good company, soothing music and the open air. "Nothin" Fang thought to himself.

And with that he slowly drifted off.
