In my opinion power caster is just not very good, what feats would you accept as a substitute?

Do you feel the substitution needs to be explicitly magical? Or could it be knowledge/study based?

Personally given that the mage/apprentice feats are about knowledge and it’s studying I feel this to be reasonable.

i feel like they should be magical. because yeah, sure, the apprentice/mage feats are about studying...about magic.
