good luck with that. :) although i'd say the flumph is more likely, since the xvart will probably be seen as "just another humanoid" and get skipped.

I too love the aarakocra and would to see them as a playable race. I'm not sure how you'd balance the flying against the other races though

Simple; an all-aerial campaign (as opposed to mine, which is all-Ariel) ;)

Yeah, that'd work, but I think that WoTC would want to go with something with a little broader appeal :), which is probably why there is no feat for dragonborn to get wings despite the epic-level monster version in the MM.

Do what I plan on doing with a soon-to-be-winged dragonborn in my campaign and take cues from what already exists.

- Githianky have one-round flight as an encounter power from the get-go ("telekinetic leap"), even useable on others.
- Wizards have perfect flight as a daily power at level 16.
- Rogues have a "leap of the clouds" ability as an at-will utility at level 2.

You can begin with wings serving as jump-boosters (like the rogue power) and eventually become encounter-based clumsy flight. You can even have a paragon path focused on developing flight.

Jump boosters, temporarily tactical flight, and clumsy flying would be the way to go, but I think that "costless" overland flight would be the real issue with a flying race. Currently, the only way to do that is via a ritual or mount, neither of which is free.

I almost fell of my chair laughing when I perused through 'thunderspire and found a monster called NORKers...just google norks if you are not easily offended :)
I didn't get the original FF so I missed out on norks :(
