And now for something a little different. While vacationing in Colorado, I went to a hobby shop in Durango and same they had a few of the D&D frameworks figures for sale and I was excited to purchase one because they're not for sale at my FLGS here in Arkansas. As you can see below, these models come in pieces on a frame and you can mix and match the parts giving you a degree of customizing fun.
I've made no Bones about it (that's a different company), I don't typically like WizKids miniatures that are made for PCs. It's nice that they're inexpensive, but I just don't like the way they look and I don't like painting them. I actually like the look of this miniature and I think it's going to be fun to paint. The ability to customize the minature is very, very limited, but it retails for $15.00, so I won't complain too much. I found it odd that the dwarf says "Female Dwarf Barbarian" on the WizKids website but just Dwarf Barbarian on the package. I figured it out based on the two available heads that don't have beards, but it would be nice if it were written on the package. When you're scanning the shelves at the store looking for a female dwarf it would make it easier for the product to stand out.
I don't mind the $15 price tag (I paid less) for a PC's miniature. If you purchase more framework miniatures you might be able to use the left over parts on the sprues to mix and match weapons and accessories. The female dwarf barbarian here came with a big ham and a wineskin and I'm not sure which one, if any, I want to use.
