Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I bought this with the intent of painting a red dragon. So, uh, close enough I guess.

Well, parts of it are red...ish. :p

(It's kind of like my philosophy about armor in D&D - if the picture or mini of my character has some visible chainmail on it or a steel shoulderpad, clearly I can call the armor it's wearing either "chainmail" or "platemail"... The classic picture of Warduke is a good example, since he's variously been statted out with both armor types over the years/editions.)

I managed to paint a couple miniatures as well, over the last week or two. It's quite the mix, but I print and paint whatever seems like fun to me, completely disregarding the already-printed miniatures for a dedicated faction that I have lying around.

Faces are hard. I really like what you did with the nose and lips of that chaos dwarf.

Man, I love those old style GW looking minis. Amazing work!

Well, I've actually started basecoating something, which is more than I've done in several years... :p
Kinda fell out of the hobby for a while. But then I started working up a campaign area based on what I was working on for the Dungeon23 challenge and I got a bunch of npcs in my head that I wanted to paint figures for, using mostly stuff from the Brinewind expansion set in Bones 5. And I got the Green Griffon expansion from Bones 6, so now I've got plenty of townsfolk and scenery.
But I also got the haunted lighthouse from Bones 6, and couldn't resist starting to assemble the base, so I decided to prime it all black while I was at it. :)
Didn't come with any assembly instructions so I had to do some puzzle work to figure out the order of the stairs going up the outside and the arrangement of the posts holding up the platform, lol. Gonna post and assembly guide on the reaper forum sometime this weekend and hopefully save some folks a bit of time and trouble...

And yes, that is a gigantic freakin walrus mini, lol - half the reason I bought the set right there...

That tower was a bit of a pain to assemble. Just primed mine, as well. And I also wanted that giant walrus, bad. It is going to make a super ridiculous final boss!
