Filling spell slot question

Can I, as a 5th level cleric, fill my 3rd level slot with a second level spell? I don't have my PH, and am working off of the SRD.

I know for a fact that a 5th level sorcerer can cast 2nd level spells with 3rd level slots, but I can't remember if this option extends to other spell casters.

Yes, you can always put a lower level spell in a higher level slot. I don't have the exact page on me, but I'll find it if you really need me to.

Yes, you can. This option extends to all spellcasters, AFAIK. Every spellcaster has the option of putting lower-level spells in higher-level slots.
