Autumn

First Post
Kae's expression brightens as she hears the sound of their pursuers departing, and she seems almost back to her cheery self as she follows the others towards the stairs with a mischievous wink at the speechless bathers.

Still, there's a grimmer cast to her expression still lingering on. It might not be today, but sooner or later that mouthy shifter is going to have some painful reparations to make.

Kaodi

Hero
Bhalag grins and tips his hood to the two beautiful ladies before heading for the stairs, pausing only to glance up at the sky for signs of the enemy.

Going down

Nobody goes near this fire escape, which everyone thinks is a little peculiar.

Five hundred feet of tight spiral steps down, the party is halfway to the ground and no longer wonders why nobody bothers with this fire escape.

At the end of the thousand feet of stairs you enter an illusion garden: currently the pieces on display are various illusory representations of Klein bottles. Compared to them, you look entirely prosaic and nobody pays much attention to you as you head towards the gate.

There are benches you could rest on for a moment if you chose to, or you could step straight into the street without difficulty.

Zook and Rethlin maneuver the party past the paradoxical four-dimensional constructs into Terminus station, a three-dimensional construct scarcely less paradoxical in some ways.

Considering it serves as the gateway to the fastest means of transport in Khorvaire -- the lightning rail, the earth-sled, the mail wagons pulled by crack relays of mage-bred horses -- there's an astonishing quantity of standing about in long slow lines to get anywhere.

Even late at night, which is when the party arrives

It's time for the party to pick a line.

No earthsleds will be going to First Tower until noon, barring an very special (and expensive) charter.
The midnight mail will be going to First Tower in about 10 minutes: if you can figure out how to get seats in time it will be the cheapest mode of transport to First Tower, and competitive in arrival time with the Lightning Rail.

The Rail is cheaper and goes faster, but won't leave until 230 am: that lead means it will arrive at First Tower at very nearly the same time as the mail.

What does the party do?
