Finesse'abe 'two-handed' weapon?

If you take a level in Iaijutsu Master, you can finesse the katanna.

An historical rapier has a blade as well as a point. People often get confused with the foil from the sport of fencing. Although not at all designed to be used two-handed, I see no more problem allowing it than any other weapon. It is a little difficult picturing power attack with any piercing weapon, because I normally picture a big baseball-bat type swing, but I guess you can picture a two-handed overhand thrust, or something similar.

If you have the Iron Kingdoms Character Guide, one of the elf races uses a Katana so fine that it is finesable.

I believe it is not the intent of the rules for a PC to use Weapon Finesse and 2x Power Attack at the same time. However, this falls "in the cracks" rules-wise, so it's up to each individual DM.

Speaking form personal experience, limited as it is...

If your DM is willing, you can do this without the level. Samurai could cleave a man in half, and strikes were accurate within millimeters (for the good ones). Power came from the abdomenal muscle network and legs.

Maybe your DM will allow this with some kind of circumstance (special feat, so you'd end up taking two feats to learn the weapon, who knows...)

But by the RAW...

Are you guys joking?! Using two hands with a rapier!? OK, its not as funny as "mule mufflers" but still...

I must say that the idea of using a weapon like a rapier with two hands, unless yr using it *defensively* as it was in the Princess Bride example given, should incur a -3 or -4 penalty. Part of the point of using a rapier is speed and precision. Never mind the fact that using it 2handed leaves a more open target.
