Firefly: Second Time the charm

I was a huge joss fan and so when firefly aired i was psyched.

but, due to various airing issues, no pilot, out of order and me not catching it all the time, the impression i came away with was akin to "what a terribly disjointed mess."

But i did buy the DVDs cuz there were some good stuff and i am a sucker for scifi.

By halfway thru the never-seen-by-me pilot i am wondering "is this the same show".

i gotta say, having burned thru the DVDs i came away going "holy crap, this stuff was great TV!" As good or better than bab-5 which for me is saying a lot.

DVDs now on loan to friends.
Must see Serenity.
Must purchase RPG
Must start traveller campaign soon!

Or, for those not wanting to invest in the DVDs, SciFi Channel is going to be showing the series, in the correct order, beginning Fri, July 22nd (before Stargate SG-1)

It should be watched on SciFi if you can, just to encourage SciFi to show anything but another airing of Mansquito.

So far my DVDs of Firefly have claimed 2 victims. Now they are both waiting for the movie to come out.

Is it wrong that I started watching show last night and will watch it on Sci Fi channel as well.

my dvds are proving very successful.

my friends are now passing them disc by disc, not waiting for one to finish the set and watching a disk a night with many thanks heading my way.

haven't had this much excitement since i started passing round stargate dvds.

Ok, I'm a bit confused (more so than normal ).

Firefly originally ran for less than one season, correct?

The dvd's people keep referring to have only the original, partial season, correct?

The new episodes begin tonight with Serenity, correct?

If so, are there any plans to show the original episodes on SciFi?
