There are no new episodes (beyond the ones that are in the DVD set; there are a few episodes that Fox never showed). Sci-fi is running Firefly with the episodes in the correct order, but they're not making anything new.

So when SciFi played a commercial advertising the "premiere" of Firefly, they just meant they're re-running the old episodes? That'll teach me to pay attention to advertising...

Theatrical release. It's called Serenity. I missed a sneak preview already. I'm going to have to make up for it by seeing it about five times in the theater.

Yes, you should have just popped the dvd in to begin with, no annoying commercials.
