not really I have been saying 6e/5.5/anniversary edition for about a year... so it's nice to have 1D&D to say it easier... I am sure the community will decide if it is a new edition or not, not wotc6E, 5.5E, 5E+, 1D&D... does any of those terms actually matter? The game's the game. Call it the 'Fred Edition' for that matter if you want.
