Fishers find CR10 Squid!

So Cthulhu's fishing again? Or, rather, "humaning".

See, it works like this: He releases some of his pets - the runts who aren't nearly large enough, and as dumb as a shoggy to boot - some fisherman catches the thing, dozens of boats containing marine scientists, press people, and the terminally curious, arrive, and Cthulhu eats them all. Yum yum yum! :p

Now, the deepest seas are one of those few places on earth we haven't mapped out yet (along with the deepest of jungles and remotest of valleys and so on). I find it absolutely fascinating. You hear someone talking about that Big Foot he saw (too bad his camera went low on batteries on that very moment!) and think "yeah right", but after seeing stuff like this big calamari surprise, it's all too easy to imagine giant versions of all the water animals we know. What lives there down in the depts?

Maybe we're about to find out, in the next couple of decates, when global warming makes some of those critters come up here and play with us or something.

Public service announcement from a fish guy: Try to stay away from "Chilean sea bass"/Patagonian toothfish on the menu. There's plenty of other seafood to eat from more sustainable sources - Alaskan salmon, for instance.

Damn salmon propaganda! ;) :p

I've said it before and I'll say it again: colossal squid are the coolest things on the face of the entire planet. Wonderful stuff :D.
Ah, but not as cool as the glow-in-the-dark giant squid filmed zipping around recently.

Nice little size comparison chart on the bottom of the article, including 'Colossal Squid'.

Edit: Oh, and big squid would taste of ammonia, as mentioned above, since they have ammonia bubbles in their muscles for buoyancy and to protect against compression.

Circumstance bonus from the Trawler, +2 from each Fisherman aiding another... they could'a got him in with about 16 brawny guys, easily. :)
