For real this time: What is your stance on 4e

Will convert one of my ongoing campaigns, but will finalise the other using 3.5, as there is not much left (we're on the next to last Shackled City scenario).

I chose option A: "love" 4e and will not go back to 3.x, but it's rather an overstatement.

I think 4e is better than 3e, I hope to play more of it, but I would play 3.x (and 2.x, 1.0, BECMI, etc.) again if someone had an interesting idea/campaign ready to go.

My advice is : vote with your money in real life.

Done by default, but note that it is difficult to vote against a product with my dollars. It's not like an election, where I can vote for the other guy. Without my feedback, WOTC would never know if I looked at 4E and didn't like what I saw, or I just didn't exist as a customer in the first place.

In a sense, the only vote choices are "Yes" or "Abstain", because no one will even notice if my dollars go elsewhere.

Yup, same here. Considering that the poll is 'for real this time', I was half-expecting to find my answer amongst the options.

'I like 4e a bit more than 3.x'

I get that for a lot of people it's a polarizing issue, and they either love or hate it, but there are also those of us who like it a bit more, or a bit less, or just don't care. And also that the poll is limited to a certain number of options, but I don't think with the ones given you'll get a very meaningful result as far as pro-4E people are concerned.

I really like 4e. I really like 3x. Thank heavens I realize that I don't have to choose between the two games. I can (perhaps shockingly to some) play both of these games. Or even other games, too.

If I were to go back to any edition it'd be AD&D 2e with some holdovers from 1st (classes namely).

If I were to go back to a previous edition that wasn't 3E I would be using the Rules Cyclopedia D&D book. Too bad I only own one copy and they are getting hard to find nowadays.

I have the books, will learn the system but will not likely play or run 4E. There are vast improvements over 3E, [Reach, spells, Mega-damage builds, AC issues, ranges beyond 200' ]but other parts scream "Dumb action movie" and "more board game than role playing game" to me.

There are claims of 'tactics', but cover's been nerfed [usually only 2 points], fighting defensively is a joke [1 point] and ranged attacks phase through your own team.

Regardless of my feelings about 4e, I wouldn't DM 3e again on a dare.

Luckily, 4e is fun on both sides of the screen.
