Force bows and such...

Force v2*
Found only on ranged weapons that utilize ammunition, such as bows, crossbows, and slings, these weapons imbue their ammunition with magical force. Ammunition shot from force weapons become force attacks that have no miss chance against incorporeal targets and bypass damage reduction, but they don’t damage creatures immune to force effects.
Faint evocation; CL 5th; Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, magic missile; Market Price: +24,000 gp (or +2 bonus).
Source: Kelly Reynolds, inspired by the Bow of Force from page 102 of the Arms and Equipment Guide.

It obviously wouldn't do the exact same thing. Ghost touch has nothing to do with shooting arrows of force. I like the concept, reminds me of many a hack'n'slash video game.

Looks pretty good to me. (I'm gonna have to pick up the Arms & Equipment guide) But am I reading it right, that the Force damage is whatever damage the physical ammunition would do- but just as a force effect? I mean, with the effects against incorporeal beings and vs. DR it's pretty good, but in a way a bow that imbues some other energy effect seems somewhat better. A flaming bow for instance, has an energy attack which would bypass DR AND at least a +1 arrow that would bypass DR-magic. Of course this is all just mechanics-talk, a "bow of force" has a much higher coolness factor than a flaming bow. (especially when you consider the juvenile "gay" comments ANY "flaming" weapon incurs at the game table  )

So, really it's what I was going for in the Rules forum except that the Force effect isn't IN ADDITION to the ammunition, it BECOMES the ammunition- so I don't know. I think I prefer my idea of a +2 enhancement that just adds 1d6 Force effect damage, along the same lines as flaming/shocking/etc. effects. Then the Force part of that would still bypass DR and hit incoporeal beings. And against regular schmoes you'd have both. (and with Knockback and Quick-Loading it'd be really cool- if expensive)

Basically. That means a longbow would deal 1d8 points of force damage.

Force damage is not subject to DR though.

So would mine. It's not merely a force effect. It just transforms your arrows into arrows of force. A +1 arrow transformed into force would still have its +1 enhancement as well.

Hey, I was young and foolish.

LOL :) Hey, when did you make that anyway? That was soon after 3rd edition came out, wasn't it? I remember stumbling across it and thinking "That's cool!".

Yeah, it was actually one of the first things I made for 3E. It was only much later that someone pointed out the D&D cartoon connection.
