Don't know if this has already been addressed: But when you adjust the Ability Scores via Temp Score, it is also changing the Original Score. This is also just a personal preference but I believe that should stay so you can see both the adjusted and un-adjusted scores.

For example my character is using a pair of Gauntlets of Ogre Power, and if he removes them or his hands are cut off he would no longer be wielding them. Therefore his Strength would return to a 15(+2), and no longer be a 19(+4).

Or maybe I am overlooking something and there is a way for both to display and I need some help.

Not sure if this is an Excel limitation or if it needs to be locked better, but this is what I did:

I accidentally put Gauntlets of Ogre STR in the wrong slot (arms/wrist), because I thought they were bracers, so what I did was hit CTRL-X and CTRL-V the text in the right space (hands), and as a result, it copied over the formula or something because now my CHR sheet states #REF! under hands.

The bad news is that I cannot fix it, because it's locked. LOL. Minor, but I thought I'd mention it. Again, I'm not sure if this is an Excel snafu or if the cells can be locked down better?

Oh, and this is with 1.55 so it might not even be relevant at this point anyway.

Great job! Love this tool!

What does the timeline for v2.0 look like? Are you looking at days, weeks, months, etc?
Also, I've noticed you're protective of whats going on in the background of your excellent sheet; however, many of your users would appreciate the ability to make some minor changes here and there (especially to the "tables" tab). I like the file locked because my players are idiots, but I'd like to be able to unlock it myself. I know you've been opposed to macros, but something that can only be run manually that unlocks the file would be handy.

Either-way, thank you for an excellent tool.

Thanks for the feedback! The Cut and Paste will always cause issues with references for editable cells in Excel, if you do have this issue just use the transfer tool to transfer to a new template (either 1.55 or later) and this will fix your issue. Note the current transfer tool supports specific versions, for early version you may need a two step transfer to the latest version

Hello ForgetAnvil and everyone!
I like your character generator very much. And I just love shortened spell descriptions, thank you!

What is not so convenient, however, is a character sheets (aside from sheet 3, which is spell list). The most used sheet1 is too inefficient with space (as I see it: too many attacks and they are too large, needlessly large equipment and proficiency sections) and lacks crucial, often used info like spell slots, special abilities like Lay on hands, Bardic inspiration, etc.
Summary sheet is, on the contrary, too vague. Without HitDice, proficiencies, tempHP, death rolls and so on, it cannot be a Charsheet on it's own.

I made some adjustments with pdf of sheet1 (in attachment). If you find my points valid, can you, please, make an alternative sheet with such matters seen to?

Hi Destynar, there are significant changes and features planned in v2.00 to enhance the character sheets and allow custom design of any character sheet you would like. There is still quite a lot of work to complete the design and more importantly the new functionality (and options).

Below is a draft design of the new CSI for your viewing pleasure [the design is about 90% complete for CSI, design changes planned for CSII, CSIII, CSIV and Wild Shape) - feedback is welcomed!

Hey wrightc214, timeline is not fixed - let's say month(s) for now as this is a bit of a hobby and it's fun (and there is a crap load of work to complete :) ). Let's say I'm not opposed to macros as they are extremely powerful (some cool stuff used in the transfer tool and translation macros, the reset macro is very basic), the primary reason(s) for not using macros are compatibility and the recoding required if worksheet design changes are made (a macro does change a cell reference if that cell is moved or changes). In v2.00 I'm looking to remove the macro required for translation and simplify that so only the reset macro would exist (translation functionality would still work, even for customised sheets using named variables). It's unlikely the tool will be required to be unlocked for users, hopefully v2.00 will improved the flexibility of the design and customisations further

Regarding the character sheet design above: A place to list the 3 magic items currently attuned would be handy. Bonus points if we could set up magic items in one location, and select from a drop down on CS I to select the items currently attuned and have relevant changes occur on the fly.

Regarding open access to your tool: What I'm after is the ability to add races, sub races, sub classes etc from Unearthed Arcana and personal homebrews to the tables tab. Right now, to do this I believe I have to pick something to replace because I have a hard time tracking down all the linkage in the formulas that lead to the final results. Also, I want to investigate the set up on your file because I think it is structured excellently and want to see what I can learn for my own personal use going forward.

Looking forward to 2.0!

As for the design, in my opinion it's still too heavy. Important stuff like abilities and redundant like possible actions shouldn't be on a same page, IMHO.
Proficiencies should have an option to remove blank lines (like on CS3). Equipment worn can be a simple list, as could actions. On the main page (which I assume is CS1) should be character traits (flaws, bonds, etc.)

Basically, these suggestions come from my preference to have CS printed only on one A4 page. Spells on the one side and everything else on the other. So it is imperative to conserve space. By the way, new abilities is ingenious in that regard!

Another thing is, current HP is much more convenient to have not as a square field, but as a rectangle. In my experience simplest way to track HP is to write them, for example, like this:
80/71/46/15/0/21. So you can track a history of hits, correct mistakes and not forced to erase current HP 10 times within a round.

Also some abilities and spell slots are easier to track using check boxes instead of numbers. For example you can write "Bardic inspiration 3 uses" or you can write
"Bardic inspiration O O O" and a player just crosses out used check boxes and erases his/her marks on rest.

I hope this feedback was useful :)
