Fort Knocks - knight otu judging

"Sorry, that´s what I was saying. Let´s shoot them from here" says Nodis, readying his crossbow. "Though I don´t know if this is going to deal real damage to them, you know."

"Very well. This would seem an appropriate time for me to use one of the magic oils that the Mortalists gave us."

"Rurik, do you have a bow or some such weapon? We could fire a volley to take out as many of the creatures as possible. If you and one other could then hold off the surviving skeletons as they charge us, we could continue to pick them off at a distance."

"Artax, we've seen how effective your dagger can be at close quarters - do you think it would be a good idea for you and Rurik to stand the charge? The Mortalists' magic oil will give me three enhanced missiles - I want to make sure I can use all three of them! After that, I will join you in hand to hand combat."

Are you following brother E's plan? Just so you know, you can throw all three of the stones as one attack, but then you will be gambling all the damage on a single die roll....

"Me shortbow ain't gonna 'urt 'em," Rurik replies, "But ye do whate'er ye need, I'll stan' by wi' me axe..."

Rurik duly takes a position (in front of them, 10') to protect the ranged warriors, and will ready an attack for the first one to approach.

[Sorry, missed E's post - subscription not working as it should, apparently.]

ok, sorry for my lack of attention... what distance do you want to start the encounter from (or do you just want to move forward till they see you?) and are you going to be in the underbrush or on the road?

(ooc: My original idea was to separate skeletons form zombies using their natural speed difference. So, the more distance, the better. I´d suggest about 200 feet, at least, start using normal ranged weapons and swith to magic stone and holy water as they come.

Any cover is better than no cover; Nodis at least will be behind the bushes, not in plain sight.)

(Yeah, 10' was in front of my comrades, not the skeletons, sorry if that wasn't clear. However far that puts the skeletons away from the party at first combat, is fine with me.)

OOC:
I think that using the difference in speed to filter the attacks is a good one. I'm happy to start the encounter at extreme range (200 feet) but Eusebius won't use the magic oil until he has a fair chance of hitting, so will wait until they're 2 range increments (that's 40 feet, right?) away.

How long does it take to apply the oil?

He'll do it in a timely fashion.

ooc: I´m sorry to say, but one post a week is not what I´d like in a game. I think i´m retiring my character from this adventure, but possibly after this fight ends.
