I'm more concerned that apparently the last good backup was in December than I am about a nearly three-day outage.

As it turns out, so are we. We'll be taking steps to make sure that that doesn't happen again.

And all praise Pooka, from Nutkinland. He went out of his way to help, and did a fantastic job. We're in his debt.

If you guys were doing a Windows Server/ASP.NET/SQL Server set up instead of the (admittedly significantly cheaper) Linux/PHP/MySQL set up you've got, I'd be offering to try and help troubleshoot things, even if I'm a programmer, not a DBA or a sysadmin. But all of my expertise is on the Windows/.NET side of the programming universe.

I've got some experience with these things. If I can be of any help, let me know. I've no aversion to remotely backing a system up on a regular basis. One more ain't a big deal :D

Yeah, same here. I don't really care too much about post count as I only post a few messages a day. I guess it is a shame to lose some useful posts though. Good luck to the people working on getting ENGS up and running.

On that note, all of our post rates (posts per day) took a hit from five months of not posting. :uhoh:
tell me about it.

I was at 5.60 posts/day (and climbing) and now I'm at 1.something.

That's what I get for having 900 posts deleted

I'm doing fine, in any case. Jdvn1 put it best though: EN World = Gamer Weed. Damn, am I an addict.
