Wasn't there a monster that had a good name for a fantasy game? It's on the tip of my tongue. It was a pile of garbage or a giant?

I can't wait. I watched the show all the time and bought the first season on DVD. I can't remember the names of the monsters either. There was a giant family that was after the Fraggles and a garbage pile that was an advice source for the Fraggles.

Gorgs. In my last (short lived) game, a large tribe of Ogres were just introduced to the game continent from a northern region, where they were called Gorgs. They were followed by slavic barbarians, who spread the lore.

If you ever owned Baldur's Gate II, hear this in Minsk's voice;

Dance your cares away
Worries for some other day
Let de music play
Down at de Fraggle Rock.

What, you never heard of de Fraggles? Furry little creatures. Great fun.

I'm 44 years old. Watched Fraggle Rock as an adult. Had my mother buy me the complete first season as a gift. Now I see the second season out and can't afford it. Guess what is going on my christmas list!

The Trash Heap has spoken Nyeah!

Fraggle Rock is my favourite childrens programme eva! A
movie would be way cool but how you do that well is going to be a real challenge (especially if its about there interactions in the 'Human World'). Although venturing out to find Uncle Travelling Mat is a good enough premise

the ogres were called Gorgs, the little creatures that built the crystaline 'Doozer' constructions were Doozers (duh) and I can't remember that names of the Rats!!!

I hope Cotterpin (the Doozer that befriends Red) gets a role in the movie

FRAGGLE ROCK IS THE $#!T!!!

Seriously though, I loved the series as a kid. And it was a testament to the genius of Jim Henson that the show taught you lessons without coming off preachy or condescending. Much like Sesame Street and the Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock is something kids of any era should watch. Must hunt down the DVD's!

I'm not opposed to the idea of a movie. But, like anything involving the Muppets since Henson's passing, things always seem to come up short quality wise. Hopefully this movie will change that! :D

Marjory the Trash Heap was like an oracle that the Fraggles consulted. She had two little ratty henchmen, Philo and Gunge.

I recently ran a game where I included something I've wanted to do ever since I came across the line in the Monster Manual: "Otyughs speak Common".

I made Marjory the Otyugh, who lives under the City Dump, the mastermind behind the city's wererat guild; thus, she has access to all manner of useful information her spies have ferretted out. She's attended by two kobold wererats (Philo and Gunge, naturally).

Having the Otyugh pause from scoffing rotting garbage long enough to greet the PCs with "Well hello, dah-links!" was a fantastic moment :D

Hyp- Did you end up having to explain the references?
If it was something you were building towards, I would have had a hard time not spilling the beans. Then again, that's why I am a player and not a DM :D
