Freddy vs. Jason

To quote one of my favorite fighting games, "Fate conspired to arrange their duel".

August 15th, Freddy vs. Jason, a New Line Cinema production, will open in theaters.

From what I've heard, bearing in mind I could be wrong on any of this, the movie will take place between Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X. Supposedly, Freddy somehow gets ahold of Jason's mask, which has something to do with Jason coming back. I've also heard that Kane Hodder will not be starring as Jason in this movie, with instead one of the stuntmen from Friday the 13 part 8 wearing the mask this time.

Entertainment Weekly printed a plot synopsis a couple of issues ago. In Freddy vs. Jason the parents of the kids on Elm Street give their kids pills to take before bedtime that make them sleep without dreaming, rendering Freddy powerless.

Freddy recruits Jason to kill the parents, but Jason being Jason decides to kill the kids too, which pisses Freddy off (Freddy doesn't like to share his victims) and leads to the two supernatural psychopaths duking it out with one another.

Let the Oscar race begin....

I see 2 avenues. One where the movie is a heaping bowl of poop and another where it's just a ton of fun. If they keep the movie short and keep the cheeze level low (there has to be some, tho) it could be really fun. :)

But it's more likely to be poop considering how long it's taken to get going....

To quote Cordelia, "Well Just when we thought things couldnt get any worse -"

"Hey Angel, its Freddy vs. Jason!"

"Oh look. Here's a darker place."

I've been waiting for this movie for so long. The only gripe I've got with it is that Kane Hodder isn't in it. That sucks, he made Jason menacing with the way that he moves.

Here's hoping Robert Englund is in it as Freddy, and that he's like Freddy in either the first two movies or New Nightmare.

From what I got at IMDB.com

Plot

After being trapped in hell for quite some time, Freddy Krueger meets up with Jason Voorhees after Jason is sent to hell by Creighton Duke (forget part X; rewind to Friday the 13th Part IX). Krueger is able to disguise himself as Pamela Voorhees, and instructs Jason to start murdering on Elm Street upon his resurrection, therefore restoring Freddy's power as well. Jason does this task, drawing the attention of Tommy Jarvis, the only person to have single-handedly defeated Jason twice, and Alice, who has managed to defeat Freddy twice as well. However, once Jason realizes what Freddy has done, he is infuriated. Hellbent on vengence, Jason renews his bloodbath in pursuit of personally slaughtering Krueger, and anyone else in his path.

Plot II

The ultimate forms of Hell are about to be unleashed on Earth once again. Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) is desparate to kill, but he can't since the parents of Elm Street have been doping their kids up with dream suppressants. So, he manipulates hulking, hockey-masked serial killer Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger), through dream manipulation of his mother (Paula Shaw) and gulit, to go to Elm Street and dispatch the kids so the parents will think the pills are useless and stop giving it to them (which will free Freddy once again). But Freddy's plans don't go according to schedule when Jason discovers that he has been manipulated, which really sends him over the egde. So, it's up to teenagers Will (Jason Ritter), Lori (Monica Keena), and Kia (Kelly Rowland), along with other survivors of both killers, to lure Jason back to Camp Crystal Lake to kill Freddy once and for all...

Personal Comments

I dont see Alice but i do see Jacob. Is this Alices son from Dream Child?

There seems to be a lot of big names. Maybe it wont be so bad?

Wes Craven is directing it so maybe it will be good?

This sounds like supercrap to me.(insert vomiting smiley here)

My personal vision freddy and jason go to hell and then pinhead rips them apart. Anyone seen the last two Hellraiser movies? They were superb.

Um ok. Hellraiser V was ok b/c it explained what hell really was and the whole philosophy of Hell. Hellraiser 6: Hellseeker? It blew chuncks. Im a HUGE fan of Clive Barker (Gay and into leather) but my friend and i were watching it waiting for cenobites. We werent expecting a repeat of #5 but explaining about Detah instead of Hell. I was pissed
