You're lucky.
Every time I've worked with Americans and Canadians they've been desperate to swap kit, but none of our lot wanted to. Mostly because the CQMS is tolo tight to replace anything we give away.

I could tell it was a big thing for them to give up. It was a staff sergeant that gave it to me for showing them a good time in Germany.

When we got issued our uniforms (C95 to MTP) we got one patch each, then they realized we each have two arms. They're not exactly expensive, but it's a bit pthth having to buy your own kit.
I swapped mine with some Danes when we did a training exercise over there. That was "interesting" (the exercise not the swapping).

I think I had this in my opening post before the "Great Purge". I'll be using a slightly modified group initiative for combat because it seems to make things a lot easier in PbP.
Essentially there ware three groups.
Group A: Whoever rolls above the monsters initiative.
Group B: the monsters.
Group C: anyone who rolls lower than the monsters.
Each group can post in whatever order and will act in the order they post.
This seems easiest on the DM and also minimises editing of players posts if other PC's do something that affects their own characters actions (eg, killing the gnoll they were planning on attacking.) while still allowing for super speedy characters to have their "I go first" schtick.
