Level Up (A5E) Fumbles and Critical Saves?

I used to like crit fumbles back in the day, but i haven't used them in a long time. Tim Kask put it pretty well, "If you had a weapon that broke or hurt you every 20 times you used it, you'd toss it."
I prefer crit fumbles that add flavor or are realistic over self damaging ones. Maybe you over extend on an attack and give advantage to enemies attacking you for one round or maybe your enemy entraps your weapon and you have to spend 1 attack (allowing others if you have multi-attack) to free it.
