Game Calendar. Do you have one?

Most people prefer homebrews with a smattering of stolen material so this question should apply to them.

What calendar do you use? Do you even bother with keeping track of the year and day in game?

I like to create them though I admit I always create the "perfect" calendar in that the year always ends on a Saturday and starts on a Sunday so that I only have to create one calendar ever.

How about anyone else?

Yes, ?I have a home brew calendar and yes I keep track of the days. The caendar has 12 months (one for each of the twelve greater gods, during their month they have individual holidays and increased power). Each has 5 weeks of 6 days each. Each week is has an element associated with it with the final week corosponding to all lements equally. THere are 4 holidays thar occur on the equonixes and solctices, though these days are not on the months. THey are extra days reserved for the holiday, no god has claim to them.

12 months named after the gods. 5 weeks of 6 days each.

The empire the players live in has two calendars, somewhat based on the Mayan calendar. There's the long count, which looks like an IP address and measures - number of emperor since beginning, emperor's age, season, and day of season. The present long count is 6.16.4.70.

Then there's a seasonal calendar. Each season has a name, and the numbers are counted from one. The season changes based on certain atmospheric measurements made in the imperial city. Presently it's the equivalent of 70 days into winter there (usually 100 days in a season in the imperial city), but of course, that means it's pretty warm on the opposite side of the equator where the PCs are.

I always let this stuff stay in the background, and really only tracked the passage of seasons.

I'm running a modern game, currently, so we use the "real" calendar.

I like to let campaign events dictate the calendar/season. I would not spring two "solstice celebrations" in different towns back to back. I do keep track of days on an adventure, though, particularly if PCs are trying to unload loot too quickly.
