There was once a pizza baker who made a lot of different pizzas and many people came to his restaurant because some of his creations were what they wanted. In fact he was so successful that many other bakers copied his designs.
But among his customers were a group of frat boys who always loudly complained that the baking took to long as they only wanted very simple pizzas with only one topping which are easy to make, but the baker was often busy making unusual and complex pizzas for his other customers who wanted them. And because he spend most of the time in the kitchen he could not hear and see the many satisfied customers. He only heard the loud complains of the frat boys.
When the time came to revise his menu he remembered all the complains the most and only added simple pizzas which are quick to make. The frat boys were happy, but many other customers missed their favorite pizza and went to one of the restaurants which had copied them. After some time while running the numbers the baker realized that he did not earn enough money any more so he revised his menu again. And this time, to not make the same mistake, he handed out a survey to his customers so that he is sure to make what they want.
Alas, the only people visiting his restaurant any more were the frat boys who all filled out the survey. And when one of his previous customers comes because of nostalgia reasons and comments on the findings of the survey which the baker made public the frat boys stand together and demand that one should respect the will of the majority as this is only fair.
