I'm gonna treat this like a Gamer's Anonymous intro...

My name is Carla Kittra and I'm a game addict. I started with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition back in 1991 and I've been hooked on role-playing games ever since. Since my intro to world of gaming at large I've played AD&D 2E, D&D 3E, D&D 3.5E, D&D 4E, Shadowrun, GURPS, Rifts/Palladium, Alternity Star*Drive, Buck Rogers, Tales From The Crypt, Star Wars D20, Star Wars Saga, Star Wars WEG, MegaTraveller, Conan D20, Mutants & Masterminds and True20. I must admit that although my gaming roots are in D&D I am burnt out out on it currently and am exploring alternatives. Currently I'm really digging True 20 and Mutants & Masterminds. I am really looking to the Warlocks & Warriors supplement for it.

I am a female gamer and an ex-wife. I have one son (Joseph), and the ex got custody of him. At least I get to see him every other weekend. He is nine years old, has an interest in science fiction and fantasy and has an over-active imagination (he gets that from me). When I'm not a player, I'm a GM; though only for Joseph. He really enjoys Traveller20 and Mutants and Masterminds. He hasn't had the chance to try out D&D 4E yet, but right now we are looking at trying our hands at the BFRPG retro-clone. He plays WoW online with his friends and he really enjoys it. He doesn't know it yet, but next month is birthday (10/31) and I am giving him the DDO game and a three month subscription. If he really likes it I'll extend his subscription for a year.

If I had to pick one D&D Campaign Setting that is my fave it would have to be Dragonstar. And if you are limiting me to official settings I'd say Spelljammer.

ahem..... My name is Andrew Farrell. I am a gaming addict. It started in 1989 when my comic shop owner and friend introduced me to Ravenloft. From there I advanced to Darksun. I have dappled with Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, Home brews, Vampire, Torg, Champions, Mutants and Masterminds and CoC. My current addition of choice is Eberron.

I have been married for 16 years and the wife has tolerated my addiction even with the 7000+ miniatures, 300+ books and the need for a seperate room to house my addiction and needs. My two children enjoy playing also with my odd sence of humor I try to add for their enjoyment and recently have offered running a game for my son and his friends this winter.

I have made my hobby a part of my life as I use PC names for user names on various web sites dedicated to comics, DnD and Heroclix.

At this point, the only game I play is Eberron with several failed attempts at Dragon's Hoard (home brew).

Amateurs....

My name is Eric Stearns and I've been gaming since...1978... I began playing AD&D 1st Edition when my cousin David introduced me to the game; 3 years later I was still playing and he was a drug-addled burn-out.

I have played all editions of D&D except OD&D (sorry diaglo), Star Frontiers, Gamma World, Top Secret: SI, Twilight 2000, Shadowrun (1st and 2nd editions), GURPS (hated it), Role Master (broke my brain), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (BEFORE IT WAS A FRIKKIN' CARTOON!!!), Paranoia (2nd, 5th and 7th editions (citizen, what is the 'edition' you speak of?)), Star Trek (FASA), Star Wars (WEG, d20 and SAGA), Wheel of Time d20, numerous tactical board games (to include but not limited to, Axis & Allies, Shogun, Fortress America, Conquest of the Empire, Squad Leader, Civilization (before the computer game came out)), and more family board, card, and computer and console RPGs, strategy and turn based warfare games than you can shake a sword at. I hate CCG's of any flavor.

I have been married for close to 20 years (this October) and have two kids 19(boy) and 15(girl) and have successfully converted all three to gaming. I have had the pleasure of running two campaigns that have lasted four years each. Organizing and playing in several weekend long gaming sessions thanks to my screwy work schedule when I was in the military. I am part of a very elite group that has played Top Secret: SI in a facility that in hindsight could have kept the books because they said "TOP SECRET:SI" on them and so did our professional papers. *blush* I'm a three time attendee of GenCon (though this last one was kind of rough..) and a one time attendee of D&DXP (not upgrading to Vista - that's a joke).
And yes I'm old, but I still look hot. (also a joke, however I've been told....)

My name is ssampier. I'm a gamer, in recovery.

I started gaming at the age of 12. I was interested in fantasy. I wanted to buy the D&D basic set. But my parents wouldn't let me buy it for some reason. So I bought Middle Earth Roleplaying instead. My brother was GM. It was great fun. Eventually, we ran out of the scenarios in the book.

For a few years in junior high and high school my brother and I would play on and off, eventually buying AD&D 2nd edition. Occasionally, my cousins would play, too. I didn't have as much fun with them, because they played evil characters. {gasp and random-person fainting}. Then much later I "quit" gaming, only to be brought back by D&D 3e.

Over the last 16 years I have played a few different game systems. A few of which I liked, a few I did not. The only commonality I can find it that in my experience gamers tend to play either the odd-ball types and/or evil psycho maniac characters. I like more heroic "save the day" gaming (usually sticking to a common goal).

I'm a gamer in recovery, since I have lots of gaming books, but I rarely use them. I am really choosy about who I play with. I have not quit cold turkey, since I do lurk EnWorld daily and glance at my books occasionally. Sometimes a world idea pops into my head. I write it down, only to have it filed somewhere on the hard drive of the computer.
