Games you want to play someday

So, not long ago buzz had his big thread on games you want to run someday; my own list of games I'd like to play is quite different from the games I'd like to run, though. In fact, I'd be very unlikely to want to actually run any of these, but they sound really fun to play. So, heck, I better start a new thread!

Here's a few off the top of my head:
  • Dark●Matter, run under the original Alternity system.
  • A good Diamond Throne campaign that wandered about the continent for a fair bit.
  • Same with Iron Kingdoms or Eberron.
  • A Planescape conversion to 3e or 3.5 running some of the classic modules like the Great Modron March and Dead Gods, and then just letting us explore the planes for fun.
  • A Conan game with Mongoose's shiny new system.
  • A Star Wars game that was removed (in time) from the movies sufficiently that we could strike out on our own a fair amount. Actually, I could probably run that too.
  • Any game utilizing The Window; a system about which I'm very curious. The posturing of the author is tiresome, but mechanics-wise, I think he's on to something. I'd do any type of setting here.
  • A fantasy horror game ala Cthulhu in fantasy. The new rules in Darkness and Dread from FFG are probably entirely appropriate here.
I'm sure there's plenty more that if suggested to me, I'd be glad to clamber on board, but those are ones that I'm particularly interested in trying someday.

  • My homebrew - call me egotistical
  • Star Wars - I'm getting my jedi on with KotOR and I want more
  • Call of Cuthulu - never played. Want to.
  • Planescape - under a DM with an IQ of five thousand and six
  • Wyre - acutally, I'd just like to be in attendance and hold Sep's Mountian Dew for him assuming he finds me worthy

Though I'm running a Star Wars game that I'm enjoying a lot...I really want to run one with a group of experienced PCs. Take the 'main' characters from the OT stats and hand them out to the PCs. Then, let them go through the events in the movies and see how things change. My own little Infinities campaign. :)

- Dark Sun.
- Call of Cthulhu with a DM who could really evoke the 'holy crap we're f&@ked and going insane' vibe.
- Eberron, 'cause it's new and I want to play a warforged.
- Iron Kingdoms 'cause guns and iron liches are cool.
- A game set in the Thief universe. I wouldn't want to run it since doing all the prep work to prepare would likely be much-too-much for me.
- A good, paranoid d20 modern game that lasts more than a few sessions.

You know, I regret never having played Paranoia. I've always heard that it's tons of fun. Someday I'd like to give it a try.

My two 'I would love to run or play in it someday' games.

- A Buffy the Vampire Slayer game set in WW2. The Slayer and her friends would be memebers of the French Resistance, trying to help the allies, stop Hitler from uncovering lost relics of occult power, and battling the elite vampire SS. I mean Nazi Vampires - you can't get any more evil than that!

- A Mage game set in the wild west. Euthanatos gunslingers, Sons of Ether as crackpot inventors, and Verbrek indian medicine men. Sounds like nine kinds of cool.

* Star Wars, because Knights of the Old Republic kicks ass.
* Delta Green (using some mixture of d20 Cthulhu and d20 Modern).
* A D&D game in which all the PCs are young men/women who are trying to become knights. Low-magic, but high chivalry and romance. Mounted Combat would be a must-have feat.
* A D&D game that's heavy on the role-playing and social interaction and low on combat and spellcasting. Court intrigue, skulking around, and the occassional duel.
* A D&D game that's very over the top, with players allowed and encouraged to build the most twinked-out characters imaginable. The setting would be like Planescape on crack, with 9th-level spells getting tossed about like confetti.

Whee! This is fun.

I like to play in a Traveller game. I never done it, but the story hours I read here sure make me want to.
Y'know, how did I miss that? I have tons of old Traveller stuff, especially for MegaTraveller, and it's kinda fun to read, but I've never played it. I've always wanted to.

Another game I'd like to play is Werewolf; I have a fair amount of Werewolf books that are pretty good reading, and I've played a few one shots here and there, but I'd like to actually play a real game there someday.
