Gaming Groups and their OS's

How compatible is your group with the Digital Tabletop?

  • 100% Windows PCs, full compatibility with the DI

  • 1 or more person on an incompatible O/S (details below)

  • Everyone on an incompatible O/S (details below)

I'm definitely the minority here, but everyone in my group (all 7 of us) uses Mac. We do have a PC in the house, but I personally never use it for anything. Everyone else is Mac only.

Both my groups are 2/3 Mac-based of various vintages. Call it 50% compatible.

On the other hand, neither of these groups is likely to ever use the DI online tools in the first place.

100% Windows-compatible. The rest of my group uses WinXP, because it's windows, I'm using a Linux-PC with dualboot (for XP), though one can probably get DI running on Linux.

Cheers, LT.

Well, as far as the computer distribution goes, we have one Mac user (non-Intel), one Linux user and the rest (7 people) use Windows.

However, basically no-one would ever consider paying for something like VTT, even when DI is included. I've tried getting people interested in other (cross-platform) software like it (way before VTT was annouced) and no-one was the least interested. We all like to get to together in real life - the "being social"-part of our gaming sessions is as important as the actual gaming.

Those of us that crave some form of "virtual gaming" all play World of Warcraft (Of nine people, 4 currently play and another 3 have played before) or Neverwinter Nights (1 person).

Cheers,
Meadred
