I realize FULL well that the feral and Rho could have EASILY killed Arineil..... not to mention whoever passed out due to grappling could have well died as well.. and to be honest if my character had she would have died in the way her concept would have been PREFECTLY ok with..... you didn't do this though.. you used restraint and gave me at least for my end a VERY entertaining battle with actions and key decisions I needed to make to allow things to go smoothly and still remain fun... I had a blast myself.. I found myself wanting to check the IC thread every time someone new posted or an update was done..... I think things were VERY challenging.. but in doing so it made it VERY fun as well... I say kudos to you Jemal for making the first combat of the game what it should have been... a good strong opening to the game..

Likes:

The way you didn't used your knowledge of everyones stats to your advantage... you could have tailored each NPC to totally Nullify us all and this was not done... went nicely....

Loved how you are introducing bloodlines.... a trigger with something unknown to the player leaves the game is suspense and always keeps us guessing as to who is next to transcend....

I think combat went really smoothly we only a few minor hiccups as well.. it's not easy to make a combat go that smoothly... ESPECIALLY a near epic level combat at that.....

Dislikes:

That damned Ray of Venom spell.. that's crazy powerful..... LOL

I didn't like how unorganized our group as a whole seemed to be.... granted *I* didn't help that much.... then again I was more hoping for a 'single one out and take it down... move on to the next' tactic.. I feel with the party setup this is REALLY easy to do... but not so hard to master.... not saying anyone was to blame as I had just as much a hand in it as everyone else.. but I say next combat all... lets formulate a plan.... then again I must remember.. my character is only used to two people here in our little trope.... I guess working together will come in time....

Question: is the freedom of movement going to continue to allow those with it to move freely when paralyze is used.. or was that a ruling for JUST this combat?.....If this as been completely clarified can I have a recap of the final ruling on this please?

GOOD LORD.. that's some fricken armor man.... I JUST got to reading the IC postings.. and CRAP I wish that wasn't evil breastplate or I'd SO call dibs LOL

wow.... Jemal.. just looked over the bear-choker thing and man.. I REALLY should have had you help with me my barbarian tank DR character creation... FIFTY-SIX str when raging.. that's nucking futs LOL.... makes me almost want to rework my character and actually start reading up on more PrC's LOL

Good work on the bear lad Jemal! I know someone is good at DnD when i see 5-6 PrCs listed with a few levels in each one.. Can you list the books each PrC is from? I'd like to take a peak for my own use. Also, good idea on the grappling feats - good grappling build overall! I think it has helped me with my Minotaur character in Monkey's game. Questions:

How does he get 56 STR with only one level of Barbarian?
How is he immune to criticals?
Why take Endurance when other devastating grappling feats are available in the SS? Or even abilities like Rake/Rend come to mind.

I gather the Power Word: Stun was used too early and bear boy had more HPs than i expected? 456 HP is nothing to sneeze at - this thing can take some punishment! AC is a bit low though, if our two fighter types were able to full round it with Oroz's gift they could have dropped it sooner rather than later. Maybe i should pack some (imbalanced) Freedom of Movement spells next time...

He is, however, very vulnerable to ability damage spells like Ray of Stupidity with so low base Int and Cha (you mentioned you didn't like instant kill effects though and Silivrenniel can fall to Str damage just as easily, so i'll keep it on the theory level :))

I liked Oroz and Damien - optimised characters with the same "lots of PrCs" trend. Which book is Frenzied Berzerker in? The class reminds me of the Berzerker Kit in AD&D (used in Baldur's Gate II). Oroz's gift was a major buff for our melee line, and if the Dragon hadn't used that light spell i'm sure Damien would have split some major guts as well.

Overall our PCs are fairly tough and versatile, as Rathan said we need better teamwork. On that note, I'd rather we rest before we set off, so that Sila can regain her spells and also change some of the prepared spells (taking suggestions here).

I liked how Jemal spared us the complete decimation these NpCs could have dished out, had they targetted us one by one and starting with the casters. This says though, that more work is needed on our end.

Regarding the breastplate, it has so many enchantments it's silly. Could have a PC started with something like this? Also, that aura of evil means it will bestow negative levels to good aligned characters right?

I (as a player) can't say didn't like something, short of letting Rho get away. He is quite powerful and much more attuned wtih his bloodline, which will spell trouble for us later on. Fortunately Arineil wants to take him on, and this means that Sila will not be taking staff blows to the skull :D

oh yes... oh yes yes yes... Arineil wants Rho's number... those two will DEFINITELY meet again... next time though I hope to have a couple more bloodline levels unlocked and a few more epic levels under my belt heh

On the list of things i like put Sigil as well - very good character concept and a lot of fluff and background! I wish i had spent as much time on Sila. On the side note, Jemal i noticed i did not factor in synergy bonuses for my skills (just saw in the SRD that Knowledge: Arcana grants a bonus to Spellcraft checks.) Also i haven't listed the material component for Shapechange. With your permission i will edit these in the sheet.

Just remembered: Jemal, if the bear lad is immune to critical hits, why did you roll the crits for Sila's Meteor Swarm? Was it because it's an SLA?

Yee! I think we have a great cast, really. And there's always time to add embellishments to backgrounds and so on as we go. It doesn't have to be all done up front. Some of my favorite characters developed their backgrounds during the game, rather than before. :)
