Gaming W/Jemal: Planar Quest IC (Prologue)

"Remember all of this information about the Far Realm is basically hearsay.. Even I've never been there. As far as I know the 'brain-eater' as you call it is your best bet for getting there, and once you're there.. well Like I said, I don't know which key is where, or what exact form it is - but I doubt they'd have hidden the LIVE key in that madness, so you'll probably be looking for something technological or a powerful source of Magic. This will definitely be the hardest piece of the Key to find."

Wade starts chuckling suddenly. "Oh wouldn't that be funny. To use it and hide it there? No, of course not, nobody even knows it exists except us.." He shakes his head and continues chuckling, occasionally muttering to himself in what sounds like a mechanical language but is untranslatable.

D'raven recognizes the behaviour and realizes Wade's unnaturally long period of lucidity is likely at its end for the day.

Something bugs Braham though - if nobody's been there and back, how did they hide the key there?
OOC:
Days on the Bazaar are rather short, actually. About half the length of a standard day. Unless you want to venture out during the night you'll have to wait till tomorrow.
Also Wade makes no intelligible responses to any further inquiries or comments.

Gerard blinks his eyes at the sudden turn in Wade's mental acuity. "Huh. Well team What do we have to find something we have no idea what it is on a plane of madness - personified?"

"At least we have an idea of what to look for, and where to find it," Mei-Ying said calmly. "More than we had before. We can seek out this illithid and learn what it knows, but before we reach the Far Realm we'll need to make sure we're ready to cope with it."

Darrian finally looks like he's paying attention. "I'll get my people on it. We'll find out the Illithod's business hours and it's business while we're at it. Though some one probably already knows it, I forget off the top of my head. So many compete terms to keep track of. Until then make yourself at home, there are quarters prepared for you. I'll lure Wade back to his cage.. Er place of honor." Darrian starts coaxing Wade out of the room, when he leaves he signals servents to show his guests to their rooms when they are ready.

"It feels... early to go to bed," comments Ur, calmly watching him go. He turns to the others, Braham and Ying in particular, "There's nothing else we can do...?"

Vampire lords don't sleep -- and with their luck, Dragoons probably don't either.

"how about a drinking contest?"

[famous last words] "we can't get into trouble here",[/famous last words] says Gerard with a big grin.

*cue dm's evil maniacal laughter*

OOC: Does anybody have any thing to do/try/roleplay for the night or will you be retiring and awaiting the results of D'raven's information gathering network?
*BF, I remember about your thing, will be responding to your PM soon. Sorry I forgot about it :( *

"Drinking contests are so boring, I end up sober, debating of philosophy with Ur, while the rest ends up stoned. I'm off to bed." The Ogre says. "Show me to my quarters."

"If no one has returned from the Far Realm, I wonder how something was hidden there. I guess some people must have. Or perhaps it was the living key sent there after all" Braham muses.

"Mei, are there not spells both to protect from mental influence, and to locate things? While I doubt they'll be that much help, it would be neglectful of us not to take what steps we can in those departments. If need be we could pick up some scrolls."

"I will keep you company," proposes Ur after Tutek wanders off with a servant. "No contests though." Apologetic under the cover of simple humour as he concludes with a slight smile: "Wouldn't be fair to you."

Truth is, he's always had a hardy dwarven constitution - sure - but lately drinks haven't had nearly as much punch for him as before -- and they've all noticed it too <read: 'ever since he acquired the Diamond Body feat'>... He's still game for trying though. :)

<Response Gerard?>

Ur frowns: that's a good point... "Magical construct?" A short silence as he considers, arms crossed, the added challenge of tracking a wandering key, living or otherwise. As if the rest of it wasn't already near impossible in the first place... Or is *that* the shape of the lock...? "These things were built - planned - by the original adventurers." One block. "Madness is... strange stuff." Very strange stuff by the descriptions. Another block. That when slid next to the first- Ur looks up and inquires: "Is there maybe a way to tract a *real* needle in a pile of nonsense?"

Magical acumen isn't one of his strong suits, but like calling to like he understands.
