Gaming W/Jemal: Planar Quest IC (Prologue)

"something to drink and ponder over. As to the security issue of the subject, perhaps our host would join us in pondering, as well as supply us with drink? How about the rest? I am willing to burn a night of sleep to save the world." Gerrard looks to the others.

OOC:
In case Anyone's waiting on me, those with Knowledge Arcana think Ur's idea has merit. Detection spells might have an easier time locating something that is so different from it's surroundings - Like using a magnet to find the needle in the haystack.
Anything else needed from me?

"Most divinations require the caster to have a fairly clear idea of what's being sought," Mei-Ying demurs. "We have no idea what it is. Although...the nature of the Far Realms sounds very alien. There may be some way of finding it simply by finding the one familiar thing amidst the chaos."

She purses her lips. "I will need preparations. Not the least, I'll need to find the right spell, if one exists. If it doesn't we may have to make a new one."

"I have was of altering reality. Its of the 7th magnitude, the highest I know how to do."

[read limited wish]

"some things we might consider are lore of the legend, a 6th magnitude divination; true sight, also a 6th magnitude divination; I can mimic other spells like the divine for example."

"Hmm...Lore may be useful, but it takes a very long time to collect the information," Mei-Ying muses. "Weeks. Even a month or two. We'd lose precious time. There's a faster way, but it's more difficult and harder to find. Still, it may be the best way to proceed."

(OOC - The Vision spell is muuuuuuuuuch faster, but it's exp cost will make scrolls rarer and much more expensive)

A servant pipes up. "Anything you ask for can be provided at cost, minus the food and service of course. We are even instructed to wave the regular finders fee, so anything you want can be provided at normal market value, no matter where that market is. Our business is everyone's business. We normally find hard to obtain items and sell them at a markup."

limited wish - xp cost = 300 or more

Ur listens while the 'magical grown-ups' talk shop, rising into ever more arcane details as the discussion progresses. Something about life-essence costs vs this or that option?

"I will pay the price," he proposes, hoping he got the gist of it right.
