Gaming W/Jemal: Planar Quest IC (Prologue)

"You can't," Mei replies. "And in any event, the price is only money, if we can find a scroll."

She nods at D'raven and his servants. "Which we've been assured won't be a problem. So really it's only a question of gold at this point, which I'm sure we can scrape together. We may want more than one though. Working from rumors means that the spell will be...vague at first. One casting won't narrow it down enough."

The bearded one shrugs, unconcerned for now: the offer still stands, and he's got some of that too, actually. That last though with the hint of smile at the corner of his lips. :)

The dwarf does eventually note Braham's lack of participation though, as well as his expression... "You're worried," he guesses up at the tall desert man, only paying casual attention to the ongoing discussion now. "The trip?"

"Is it that obvious?" Braham briefly flashes a Ur grin. "Of course I'm worried. We're going to a place which drives everyone crazy - more crazy than normal - and from which no one came back, trying to find something specifically designed not to be found, to do something we maybe shouldn't do. The only good news is that D'Raven stocks a full bar, for which I'm duly grateful. These spells of which Mei spoke, we need to try them of course. I have some store credit at the bazaar, if need be. I doubt they'll help much though; it would be something those who hid they keys would have thought of. We have only a slight edge, thanks to Wade, and maybe your guess about a construct makes sense."

"Hm," agrees the dwarf. Though, "I think the Keys were meant to be found." Or they wouldn't have been made.

"You might have a point" Braham admits "but that depends on what the ones hiding them really wanted. Suppose that we were given the task of hiding keys. Would we make sure to leave a way to find them? I think we would perhaps divide the task among us, and thus, varying as we are, some would be hidden in earnest and some would be hidden with clues."

Hm again. "Ask Wade who hid what," suggests the tattooed monk after due consideration. *If* the construct comes out of its shell in the near future. And the boy-king might have some family stories too... "Assume they did leave a way in the meantime?"

"I'm sure the Bazaar never closes," Mei-Ying says gently. "There is money to be made after dark as well as during the day. I do not have enough money to pay for these scrolls though. If one or more of you would come with me, or entrust me with the funds, I would be happy to go purchase them now."

"I have 3000 in platinum which would cover 3 castings."
