So I don't always care about the whole Gamism vrs Simmulationism thing, but I'm wondering about soemthing. :D So here is a poll. (Or here will be a poll as soon as I set it up.)

You know, the best RPGs are when the Gameism and the Simulationism work hand-in-hand within the mechanics. It's when they get split as separate considerations that I get a bad taste in my mouth.

I don't use cheat codes.

My taste leans more towards gamist lately. And I use cheat-guides when my controller is threatening to go through my TV (looking at you Ninja Gaiden Sigma).

OK I found multiple cheat guides to scribble but they were for a lot of different scribbles  so I voted that I have pants.

As for gamist RPG's, well aren't they all? at least to some degree. I like 4e D&D and think it is the best yet and yes it I suppose gamist but I have never considered D&D simulationist to any great degree. Does that mean I like gamist RPG's and I never use cheat guides, if its that hard I play somthing else.

Why aren't there "narrativist" RPGs in the poll? They are the third part of the GNS schema...

You should also define precisely what do you mean by "gamism" and "simulationism" here. They are sometimes used quite differently than they were originally defined. I'v seen "simulationism" used as "real-world realism" and as "deep immersion", "gamism" as "facing and overcoming challenges" and as "focusing on game mechanics". I'm simulationist in the second meaning and gamist in the first.
Untill we know what the answers in the poll mean there's no way to answer it sensibly.
