[GBA] Eye of the Beholder

As a person who loves to play both D&D and Nintendo games, its really wonderful to see two great things come together so perfectly, especially when I remember spending hours playing the original game. I look forward to any possible sequels, and am already planning on buying the game.

I'm sure that the Infogrames web folks just didn't have all the information needed when they built the site. It is still pointing at the main site for their D&D Heros game, not ours. Pronto Games is working on a site that will have more information about the games and any sequels. Checkout PocketDnD.com. I still have to get all the final approvals before posting actual content.

Cheers,

I've been enjoying Eye of the Beholder quite a bit, I haven't been using my GBA much since I burned out on Advance Wars...

And man oh man, Albrik was mighty tough (I'm kinda fighter light in my party, but no one was hitting him!!!)!

Just a few comments about the game.

•In tactical combat, you cannot move diagonally!

•There is no Cleave feat!

•As far as I can tell, you can only target spells on a creature, so you cannot target area effect spells on a square behind them to miss your party members... (unless I am trully mistaken).

These are just minor nits. It's a very fun game!

Targeting spells depends a lot on the spell, all area of affect spells should be targetable on a creature or any space depending on what the spell allows. Most allow targeting a space as long as it is in range. A few need a target before the area is affected. Remember that not every spell works exactly as the rules state, for balance we had to limit some ranges and areas to make the game playable.

I'd like to figure out a way to do the diagonal movement too. Maybe in the sequel, if we get the chance. Any other wish list items?

I'm glad you are all enjoying the game. Albrik is a pretty good interim BOSS. Anybody else past him yet?

Later,
Randy

I just started playing it yesterday, so I'm not very far in, but I love it... especially combat with miniatures. Kudos on what does look like the best implementation of 3E rules yet!

There's really only one thing thus far that I would like to see in future sequels, and that's optional pop-up text showing the actual to hit and other die rolls in combat.

That's a minor issue though, on the whole I'd say this is the best $30 I've spent in quite some time!
