Gencon Wednesday Night

We have a suite adjoining the Convention Centre which we are naming 'little Canadia'.

We'll be doing a quiet hang-out there with some gaming too. Hopefully we'll have Guardians of Order and Red Shirt Games co-hosting a few evenings of entertainment @ little Canadia, along with a few games of Munchkin and so on.

I KNEW IT!

I just knew Canadians referred to their country as "Canadia" instead of Canada.

:D

Last time I went (and the first time too) I was terrified that I was going to say Canadia instead of a Canada and offend someone.... whew.....

Though I'm going to try to fly earlier on standby, as it is my plane arrives at 9:00 PM. So if possible, put me down for a "maybe" in case I get on the earlier flight.

I'm arriving early on Wednesday, should have booth set up by Wednesday afternoon, and be looking for something to do... poutine you say? What is this poutine?

Poutine is a very... Quebecois thing.

Take some good french fries.

Add some cheese curds.

Then pour hot gravy over the curds & fries so the cheese melts.

voila, Poutine! (or as some of our american friends call it, pountang!)

It sounds gross, and was a major turn off for me until I was 17. But ALL my American friends eat it when they are visiting us here in Canada, and several of them bemoan the lack of poutine in the States when they return.

As for "little Canadia", it's the nickname of our grove where we host two annual parties which have a mix of Canadian and American attendees. Thus we thought we'd bring a little bit of little Canadia down to Indy with us.

Oh, bad news for you Ashy -> I won't be running any actual games @ GenCon this year. So no Oathbound crawl or anything else. (The Oathbound crawl was just too long, I suck at building 3-4 hour games, something I have to master as I'm supposed to be writing some 'Living campaign' adventures for 2004).

No no games at all? Not even a game a la Little Canadia? :( Oh Nooo!!!! O powers that be! What have I done to offend thee? :(

Oh, there will be games @ little Canadia, just not big full-fledged RPGs.

I'd rather play light games where we can drink beer, get to know everyone, and shoot the breeze.

Rats. I thought you'd let loose with a state secret. :) Now, as opposed to being a super-cool telepath, I'm back to being an idiot who has to consciously think to say Canada as opposed to canadia.

I'll be in on wednesday, but probably won't be able to make any gatherings. :( Look forward to seeing everyone soon!
