Well, this post is a Triple Threat today as within the last two days I have received some DCC goods that I backed on Kickstarter the year prior.
First off:
The Purple Planet Reprint/Tome of Adventures Vol. 4
Consisting of t he Purple Planet adventure path book and all related materials. This is the Limited Edition cover. Said Kickstarter also offered the latest print/version of the main Dungeon Crawl Classics Roleplaying Core Rule book as an add on. And since all the other covers I wanted to get are sold out or a pain to get, I figured, why not?
Dungeon Crawl Classics Core Rulebook. Erol Otus cover variant, 10th printing.
If your familiar with how this same book gets released, but with various awesome looking covers, this is the latest variant cover for the core rulebook. What's not to love about Erol Otus' depiction of a Busty arcane warrior woman, straddling an Eldritch Abomination, while vomiting up a beam of arcane energy, and blowing away a tentacle as she wounds said Abominations' eye with her Greenstone Blade?
IIRC, the only difference with this printing is that they are using gender neutral text when talking about the classes/adventurers and so on.(don't quote me on that If I'm wrong, but I could've sworn I read that somewhere).
Last but not least:
Terror of The Stratosfiend:Cycle of the Snake-Wolf 3-The Scales of Hyper Visor god or The Final Voyage of the Crab King
(Yes that is the actual title)
Finally, we get something I don't see often with DCC related products: A 3PP mega dungeon located in a government building and the surrounding area of Washington DC. Here you'll have to contend with Wolf-Snakes, an Attack on Titan style Giantess wearing a Steel Skull mask, 14 different factions(along with various Dramatis Personae), and whatever "else" is located in the lower floors of said government building.
One of the major gimmicks of this 286 page book is the Conspiracy Die. As you cast spells and encounter weird/strange phenomenons, Reality starts to "alter" itself to accommodate these changes happening. The higher the Conspiracy Die the more stuff, like weapons and what not, will start to phase into reality. And yes, if the Conspiracy Die goes down, which it can, then stuff effected by it will straight up vanish or change back until you get that Conspiracy Die back up to the point where it can appear/change again.
It also introduces, the books words not mine, the "Drow" equivalent to the DCC Elf and they are known as the Witch-Phase. An Elf Class subrace that, instead being of Spider themed, are Shark Themed. Getting a bite attack, and even a Shocking Touch alongside a few other features. I assume you use the same rules for playing the elf class as it doesn't list the HP die of the Witch-Phase and they possess an allergy to Iron as well. The last picture at the bottom of this post is probably the ONLY good look at one. black and white pic of a Witch-Phase behind a bar counter
Overall, lotta good stuff and I almost have everything I need to start playing DCC.
